Worried-Doc could not pick up fetal heartbeat with doppler at 12 weeks.?
Hey all, I went for an ultrasound 2 days ago and everything was fine. Today I had a OBGYN appointment and the Doctor couldn’t find the heartbeat. He said that this sometimes happens and it’s probably no big deal, but he ordered another ultrasound in 3 days just to be sure. Has anyone else had a similar experience? When did your doc pick up the fetal heartbeat with a doppler? I can’t help but worry that somethings gone wrong since the ultrasound.
Thanks!
The ultrasound picked up a heartbeat of 165.

my doc couldn’t find the heartbeat w/ the doppler at 11 weeks, and immediately sent me for an ultrasound–luckily they do it right in the office. everything was fine. my little girl’s heartbeat was also 165 at that time. sometimes if you have a little extra in the middle it can be hard to pick up the HB w/ the doppler. when i went back at 15 weeks, we could hear it. don’t stress! i’m sure everything will be fine!
They couldnt pick up a heartbeat with the dopplar until I was about 16 weeks. They made it seem to be VERY normal and so far everything has been healthy with the baby since! I wouldnt worry, I would be happy that you have a doctor that stays on top of things.
The doppler could not pick up my baby’s heartbeat at 14 weeks, my OB did an u/s on the spot and everything was fine. When they are that tiny sometimes it is difficult to hear the heartbeat. I know it is hard but try not to stress too much, I am sure everything is fine.
I go in Monday for my 12 weeks ultrasound and I pray everything is fine. I would prob. be worried too if this happened to me. As long as you had an ultrasound and they saw it, everything should be fine. Congrats.
I think I was around 10 weeks and they couldn’t pick the heartbeat up with doppler. I had an ultrasound done the same day though. That’s odd they didn’t do it then… Our last appointment I was 15 weeks and we heard the heartbeat loud and clear. Good luck.
it is possible that the baby wasn’t positioned right and couldn’t find it. Those machines aren’t perfect. Also, depends on your body type. If you are on the heavier side it is more difficult to pick up the heartbeat since you have the extra padding. Just another possibility.
