I don’t know what you consider semi-cheap but Ebay has a lot of them for around $100, give or take…

that is a pretty good price…
Ask Tom Cruise! Be careful, he might hold you hostage.
If you are talking about a machine to hear the baby’s heartbeat they have one at WalMart for about $20 I think it’s called Bebe Sounds. I bought one and it worked but it is not very sophistacated and will only pick up a strong heartbeat so it only works once you are farther along (about 24 weeks). They also sell it at Motherhood Maternity.
Walmart has them for around 20 bucks but unless you really know how to use them and what sounds to listen for their a waste of money, I’ve seen lots of women on here complain about them not working right..but on the off chance you do get one be sure you get gel too, they wont work right without it.
Rent a good one! they’re like $25 a month.
DO NOT BUY A CHEAP ONE!
its a hit and miss on hearing the baby’s heartbeat. If you dont get the babys heartbeat everytime .. you are going to stress yourself out! It’s better to rent a good one .. that way you wont stress yourself out by not getting a heartbeat.
good luck! God bless!
Try searching the web, or even ebay!!
This is a good inexpensive one that I tried: 134.90

Cheapest would be ebay.
Walmart, Kmart, and Meijer (if your in a few select states) all carry the Bebe Sounds fetal monitors for around $20. I wouldnt recommend it though. I purchased one myself and it wouldnt work. Well, I couldnt find the heartbeat anyway. All I was able to hear was static.
Good luck!
You can rent a nice one for a small monthly fee.. then send it back whenever you are done. You will have much better results with an actual doppler, than with the cheap things they sell at Walmart, which are really just an amplification device. I rented one from here…

You can buy a cheap one, but it will be money wasted IMO. You will likely not get a decent sound of the heartbeat until you are quite far along..as the ones that just use aplification cannot pick up the heartbeat when the baby is small. The REAL ones that use ultrasound are expensive to buy, but easy to rent. I personally wouldn’t waste my money on the cheap ones. I think you will be disappointed.
