I bought one at babies R us.. and Im 7 months pregnant now and still can’t hear the heartbeat.
I believe there are places you can rent the actual doppler monitors that Dr’s use.. which would be much better. I think it’s about $40/month… Check online for your area and see if there is anything like that avail. in your area.
Motherhood and Walmart sell them that i know of. They are like 20-30 bucks. I bought one at Motherhood and im 38 weeks and can BARELY hear ANYTHING. Honestly its a waste of money because the only thing i heard was water and swish swish sounds.. not a Definet heartbeating sound. But it does work for some people but the chances of u hearing a heartbeat are the end of your 2nd trimester beginning of the 3rd.
why bother its not worth it
I rented one from bellybeats.com, it is the same quality used in doctors offices, and I heard mine loud and clear at 10 weeks. If you have a smaller build like I do, its easier to hear earlier, and its only $25/month.
The prenatal heartrate things they sell at the store aren’t dopplers, and they can be difficult to use. You should rent a real doppler if interested.
