Using a Fetal heart Doppler…..?
Ok i got a doppler as soon as i found out I was pregnant with #2. My first baby was a stillborn so i thoguht it would be good to keep my mind at ease as the weeks go by…
i have been using it alot lately coz im now 31 weeks 4 days pregnant and its getting closer to my due date which is mid october coz of my first baby im getting induced this time… i have been feeling my baby but not as much as i think i should… but when i check the heartbeat its strong and is between 150-160….
my question is can i use the doppler to much???…. i tend to use it between 2-3 times a day if i dont feel him….but if i do feel him i dont use it at all…
im jsut scared to death of losing this baby as well.
i have roughly 5 weeks to go b4 i get induced
cant wait!!!
lol thanks glad im not the only one lol…

I’m due Sept 26th with my third and have used my doppler since I was about 8 weeks along. My baby is just fine and I to use it up to 4 times a day. He’s begining to run out of room and I worry about it alot when I don’t feel him. I would rest assured that everything is fine and you can’t overuse your doppler. GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS
Yea that is fine just don’t use it every day like that. Sorry for your first loss and good luck with this pregnancy!
Yes it is fine. The doppler does not affect your baby in any sort of way. It is designed to enhance sound it does not send any sort of sound waves or such to your baby. Good luck with the remainder of you pregnancy!
Hi sweetheart <3
Oh your question made me teary! Just because I know that you’re due when I am and how because of what happened with your first stillborn son you’re getting to that stage in this pregnancy and worrying now. I can TOTALLY understand with your history why you would be worrying about not feeling any kicks during periods.
You know what I say? I think you’re safe to use the doppler that much. If they were a danger they would have "long-term affects" warnings on the labels and specific instructions.
My doctor and OBGYN knows I own a doppler and felt NO NEED to warn me about how much i should use it. And they both knew I was paranoid about Bub being okay in the earlier stages of pregnancy due to my previous miscarriage and threatened miscarriage with this Bub.
So I think that as long as you’re only using it for minutes at a time, don’t worry if you need to use it at different times throughout the day, as a relaxed mother means less stress for yourself AND your baby which is better all round.
So I think you are doing FINE.
By the way, if this makes you feel any better I actually read this question to my Hubby just then, as this morning I was asking Leigh for reassurance as my Bub has been moving less frequently too. He and I talked about how it must be due to Bub being bigger now and so therefore less room and movement.
When I DO feel Bub though, he/she is VERY strong so I have to think of that!
