I’m 8w 2d and I have a fetal doppler that I bought during my first pregnancy?
Should I be able to hear the heartbeat yet?
Just a little nervous because I had a miscarriage last time.
Thanks!

Read the directions. My ex bought me one when I was pregnant, and it said it could be hard to hear the heartbeat if you’re under five months. The one he bought was also a really cheap one though, so I guess it depends on the kind/brand. Still though..read the directions.
Normally using at home fetal dopplers it is hard to hear the heartbeat till the baby is much bigger then 8 weeks. In fact my midwife checked for a heart beat and 9 weeks and three days and said do not be dissapointed if I did not hear it because it was very uncommon to hear it that early. But I did hear it and like I said she was surprised and said that was very uncommon. I think you have a better chance at hearing the baby at 15 weeks then compared to 8 weeks. Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!
No.
A heart beat can be seen but not heard at 8 weeks.
10 weeks, most probably 12/14 weeks is best, once your uterus is out of your pelvic region.
Add:
This is for first pregnancies.
After a full term pregnancy, the uterus has stretched and enlarges quicker in following pregnancies, so the heart beat could be heard earlier in 2nd/3rd etc pregnancies.
Hun, you are fine! You can hear the heartbeat around 12 weeks.
No you are too early. I bought a REALLY nice one for $100 and still wasn’t able to hear my babys until 13 weeks. You can look for it but don’t freak out if you can’t hear it. Chances are it may take a month or so to hear it. If you bought it from Walmart or babys-r-us those aren’t supposed to be used till the third trimester. Good luck.
i had one of those and i didnt hear the heartbeat until i was well into my second trimester
I understand you being nervous. My previous pregnancy ended in miscarriage as well. It is not unusual to not be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat on your home doppler at this point. My doctor recommended that I NOT use a home doppler until at least the 2nd trimester because of the difficulty of hearing the heartbeat that early. I would try not to worry…easier said than done I know. I would speak with your health care provider regarding your concerns. Best of luck.
i had one during my first pregnancy and never was able to get it to work right i spend $79.00 on it and never really herd the heart beat but every time i went to the doctor she was there and very ok!!! and it is a bit early to hear the heart
It’s rare if you could even at 12 weeks it was hard to find and hear my baby. besides most of the time people think their heart beat is the babies. Best advice for answer to pregnancy question is go to this website that I use now it’s helped me out. Babycenter.com
ok first of all anyone who is saying you cannot hear a babys heart beat at 8 weeks is giving false information, with both of my kids I heard it around that time my son was at 9 weeks my daughter was at 8 weeks 2 days so yes you could hear the heartbeat, BUT to hear the heartbeat in one of those home dopplers I doubt would work, I wouldnt trust none of them, just the actual one the doctor uses, I’m pretty sure youre baby is fine, dont stress yourself over one of those home dopplers they are not that accurate, anyway congrats, and dont stress everything should be fine
