While I've never been through this, it seems only natural to be nervous and have difficulty relaxing. The only advice I can give is that being nervous and in a panic won't change the outcome of your appt in 6.5 hours either way, so the best thing to do is lay down, TRY to relax, and just wait it out. Also, they absolutely do make fetal dopplers for at-home use. You can buy them (they are generally pretty pricey) or you can rent one. The site below is only one of many sites I've come across where you can rent one. The company BebeSounds also makes a cheap one that won't be of much use to you until you're much farther along, but it certainly gave me peace when I was in the second half of my pregnancy. Good luck to you, and enjoy your pregnancy! Remember, stress isn't good for the baby! :)

I've never been through this before. You need to try to relax though, and take your mind off of it. Play some soft music, read a book, do anything that will take your mind off it. Sleep may not come. That's fine, you can nap tomorrow. Good luck to you. ♥

Take a deep breath and think about the situation as a whole.

Just tell yourself, right now I'll sleep. In the morning, I'll worry about the ultrasound.

first of all, yell back at that pharmacist because i have the doppler here at my home and i listen to the babies heartrate whenever i feel worried about anything!!... its white and is in an oval shape that has a band that straps around the belly and back and u listen with headphones... so yell back at her!
Second of all, your gonna cause more harm by stressing hun, try to relax, try to think positively, and just wait until the ultrasound comes and passes, I had a misscarriage at 12 weeks and here I am 34 weeks pregnant, and things are going ok..it's normal to worry, and to be honest, still to this point I worry, but whenever I do i just try to relax and do the at home stress test of drinking orange juice and laying on my left side feeling the kicks, i know your not at that stage yet, but just try to relax, doesnt mean u wont have a healthy pregnancy :)

The pharmacist is stupid! Look on the internet for a doppler, eBay or Amazon are good. Second, do not worry about the ultrasound. The chances of you having two missed miscarriages are extremely slim. I was worried before my 13 week scan for the exact same reason, but the minute she put the probe on my skin, we could see the little one bouncing about without a care in the world. It's amazing how strong these tiny people are, you will be fine xx

It is impossible for me to tell you not to worry b/c if you are still up, that's a loss cause. However, I was in a similar situation and during the 2nd time, I COULD NOT wait so I went to the ER complaining of cramps that didn't exist so that they could give me a u/s. When I finally saw the little bean jumping around on the screen, my mind was at ease. However, there are many websites online that allow you to rent fetal dopplers for weeks or months if necessary so that you can her the h/b @ home and put your mind @ ease. Believe me you are not the only woman who has felt this anxiety after a miscarriage. I hppe things go well for you and GOD BLESS YOU and your unborn little one...

I really feel for you but you have to remember that just because it happened once doesn't mean it will again, its highly unlikely. Last time there were probably serious defects and that's why there was no heart beat but this really doesn't mean it'll happen again, its one of those freak things that many women have to go through, hopefully in a few hours you'll be walking away with a big smile on your face and looking forward to your future, there's no point telling you not to worry as quite obviously you will. As for the fetal doppler you can buy them from ebay, at not a bad price which could in the future put your mind at rest although I don't know how reliable they are! It's so natural to worry, I am 7 weeks pregnant with my fourth and already panicking that something will show up at the scan, its one of those things us women do, yours is just heightened because of your last experience, good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine!

Go make yourself a glass of hot milk and get some chocolate... Have a few breaths, go read a really boring book, then fall asleep. There is nothing you can do until your ultrasound except for looking after yourself. I can't say for sure what will happen, but from what you're saying there is no indication that you will have a miscarriage. Just remember that they are very common... 1 in 4 pregnancies is the average, however because you've already had one doesn't mean that you'll automatically have another. Fetal doppler - get them from baby shops, not ignorant pharmacists.
Good luck! Hope you're asleep already.
