Reduction in Fetal Movement?
I am almost 36 weeks pregnant and noticed that as soon as my baby dropped I had a decrease in fetal movement. I still feel her move, but the movements seem so sluggish. I know that she is running out of room in my uterus, but I still worry. Her heart tones have been great (at home doppler) I am a little resistant to call my ob because I am 2 and a half hours away from her and most roads are closed due to torrential rainfall. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

Um, I would still call her and just ask to be on the safe side.
She is fine… she just has no room to do back flips and stuff…. you are almost there to see her beautiful face… good luck with delivery!!
They tend to do that during the last few weeks. As long as you feel some movement within a 24 hours span there’s really nothing to worry about. It’s if she goes more than 24 hours without movement that she may be in fetal distress.
It’s normal for fetal movements to slow down in the last month…you’re exactly right! Baby’s space is cramped! If you’re still feeling movement at least 10 times an hour. everything is okay! Good luck!
My guess is that it’s normal. But do call your OB. If there’s nothing to worry about you can get everything resolved over the phone. If it is problematic, then you will want to see her right away for your baby’s sake.
its perfectly fine. i didnt feel my daughter move AT ALL.. & i was worriedd to and they said it was fine, normal and it happens to just about everyone.. so your fine.. congrats & good luck on the new arrival
Once the baby drops they really have almost no room to move, though that won’t prevent them from doing so still as much as they can.
A good rule of thumb, according to my nurse, is to eat and drink, then lay down on your left side and ‘count’ fetal movements. If she moves at least four times in an hour during the full course of a twenty-four hour day, she’s fine.
It is perfectly fine. Now that you are in your later stages you will feel decreased movement. It is due to what you have already said. She is running out of room.
My second pregnancy was full of ‘no movement’. My doctor said that I had a lazy baby. I was told that if I worry, just to the kick counts. In the later stage, 10 kicks or moves in 2 hours was good enough for the doc. Well sometimes I didn’t even get that. The nurse told me that they like for people to be able to to the kick counts, but getting a perfect 10 isn’t always possible. The doc told me that it was fine. If the heartbeat is good, and there is SOME movement everyday, regardless of how many times….then everything is fine.
You could try eating something spicy or a cold drink like coke if you want immediate movement just to be sure. That’s what I did. As long as I felt it once per day, I was OK.
people really can`t tell you if this is ok or not , only your doctor can tell you , if your baby is truly ok, i have know people who baby have slow down and their baby was in distress, so i rather be safe then sorry and go get check out, it may be nothing, but its your child life were talking about!! my son stop moving around 7 months and i went to the ER and found out i was in preterm labor!! they had to give me 2 shots to stop them, I`m glad i went and got check out. So if you feel uncomfortable with the movements go get checked out, your doctor would not blow you off about this, they know that your pregnant and by checking you out it will give you a peace of mind to find out whats going on.
