my midwife listened to my baby’s heartbeat with a doppler at 8 weeks 6 days but in my notes it says ‘FHHR (Just)’ I know that FHHR stands for ‘fetal heartrate heard regularly’ but im concerned it says ‘just’. Presumably that means she could only just hear it. It did sound really quiet. Should i be concerned? She didnt seem concerned. Also anyone know what IOC means?

Its still very early. My midwife listened at 11 weeks, had a hard time tracking down the little bean and hearing the heartbeat. She said that was quite common at first. I’m now 20 weeks and the baby is thriving. I wouldn’t get overly concerned because if she were concerned she would’ve sent you for and ultrasound. Some practitioners wouldn’t even try listening til after 10 weeks.
Don’t let anyone here panic you. If you are really concerned about it page your midwife to reassure you…and try to stop reading her notes over her shoulder
Good luck.
go to a doctor to make sure
You should ask her. If shes your midwife these are things she should be explaining to you. If there was a problem she would have to report that to you. She can’t keep secrets about your babys health from you. If bb’s heartbeat was between 120-180 you shouldn’t be worried.
Don’t worry - its really hard to hear until about 12 weeks.
well because most of the time at 8 weeks they can’t hear the heartbeat on the doppler, usually it’s at 16 weeks that they hear it on the doppler because at 8 weeks the baby is very small so the heartbeat isn’t going to be very loud.
If she didnt say anything to you about it then dont worry about it. If you are worried about it then ask her.
Yahoo won’t let me answer your question without violating me so there you go!
The baby was possibly in a weird position and that early they are really competing with your heartbeat and pulse as well. Don’t be alarmed and pick apart every little detail. If your midwife was concerned you would know it. They don’t hide stuff like that from you. If you could hear the baby through the doppler at 9 weeks that is great. I heard my baby at 9 weeks as well and she is healthy as can be at 29 weeks today so just relax and enjoy your pregnancy. If you look into every detail like this you will stress yourself way out hun.
Don’t worry too much. If it’s a cause for concern your midwife would have inform you.

that is still realy earlyt o even hear teh abby’s heart rate on doppler. most people can’t hear it until 10-12 weeks so don’t be concerned if she could jsut hear it
From what I see, I think it’s nothing and as the baby gets older the heartbeat will be stronger/louder. Ask your midwife to make sure
It is possible that the baby does not want to be bothered right now. Sometimes they move in different positions so you can’t really hear the heartbeat. But at 9 weeks it is very difficult to hear the baby. you should hear it loud and clear at about 11- 13 weeks
If your that concerned I would ask my doctor. My doctor tried using the doppler on me at around 9weeks and couldnt hear a thing. They told me that they usually couldnt hear anything until 10 - 12weeks. I was so worried but after I first got to hear it, I was very impressed & excited. Its one of the best feelings hearing that little baby inside tis mommy.
It is usually hard to hear the heart beat until 12 to 14 weeks..
If there is something wrong midwife should hv told you.. For your sake I hope there is nothing wrong.. i suggest you to talk to your Doc..
good luck
