question about fetal doppler?

I speak to someone who is 8weeks almost 9weeks pregnant she has brought a fetal doppler and said today and yesterday she heard something on it which she said is baby’s movement and mothers blood flow would she hear this at 8-9weeks?. I am 9weeks pregnant and had a previous miscarriage at 7weeks and i have lost all my symptoms is there a chance i would hear something like this at 9weeks pregnant if i got myself one?

I’m due exactly around the same time you are we actually posted it on this the same day, the other day i visited my doc and he told me that i wouldn’t be able to hear a heart beat at my early stage so i’m guessing you wouldn’t either by saying you have "lost all your symptoms" do you mean, sore boobs, morning sickness etc???????????? let me know hun x x x x
To be honest I would say that might be wishful thinking on the part of your friend. These days it is pretty much standard practise that even midwives and GPs won’t try to listen for a heartbeat with a doppler until at or around 12 weeks, and not only are they trained on what to listen for and where / how to do it, but the dopplers you can buy commercially are MUCH less sensitive than the ones midwives and doctors use. Your friend could probably hear her own heartbeat and some other noise which were her moving the sensor around on her skin. Its up to you, of course, but in my opinion you’re better off saving your money than buying one of those DIY doppler devices; all they do is make you worry when you can’t find anything.
It might be her pulse. Seriously when I was 9 weeks and was at the hospital they couldn’t find the baby’s heart beat instead I heard my own pulse.
An at home fetal doppler (assuming she bought a reasonably priced one for around $20) won’t pick anything up that early. I bought one at 9 weeks but couldn’t hear anything until around 15, and then it was pretty much me guessing it was my babies heartbeat and not an echo of mine. My OBGYN said they don’t even try to hear heartbeats before 10 weeks and thats why they don’t make appointments before then. She heard mine at 10 weeks 1 day but was very surprised because I’m a little bigger than most. So it also depends on how size as to how early you’ll hear it at home.
my doctor found heartbeat with doppler at nine weeks. she had a not easy time as i recall. i would have freaked out but i had already seen it on a couple different ultrasounds with another doctor. i have been told that you need a good one otherwise you won’t find it and it will scare you. it was suggested to me that i rent one from the hospital and not buy one off the internet or whatever. i never did get one mostly because i was scared i would not be able to find one and it would be too frightening. at 17 weeks she started moving and that reassures me now. so i say, if you really want one just rent one until you feel the baby move. and whenever anyone says they hear blood flow and the baby moving i always wonder how they know it is the baby and not their bowels or something else. a baby’s heartbeat sounds very specific, not like yours, not like stuff moving. good luck.

i have previously had a child and also know what my own heartbeat sounds like!
