Hi. I bought one off ebay a couple of weks ago.Its said to work from around 10 weeks and i found my babies heartbeat for the first time 2 days ago with it, i was 9 weeks 5 days so i was over the moon.It was the one called babywatcher, its blue and cost £79.95.It has a heartrate display also which is good to see what its going at. I recommend it as im a worrier and it has been great to check in with the little one everyday but just remember that at such an early stage, you might not pick it up everyday as its quite hard to find but it doesnt mean anything is wrong. So as long as your not going to panic if you cant pick it up one day i would say go for it, i wouldnt go without mine now xx
oh and watch out for the cheaper ones with headphones as i had one of those last time and it didnt work till 21 weeks x
I’m due on November 9th, but am planning to be late. I always am.
i wouldnt recommend you getting an doppler, it will only stress out more, I work at an ob/gyn office in the us and sometimes i cant get the heartbeat, it depends on the position of the baby and the patiences of the person doing the doppler
I bought one from ebay
the best one is one that tells you what the heartrate is on a display as this means you wont mistake the baby for the placenta / you
I paid £70 inc P+P - his name was something like anawiz he has a seller shop on there - and literally you can almost guarentee next day delivery - with batteries and gel.
I am glad to hear all worked out. I was thinking of buying one my-self. I love selling on eBay,but just can’t seem to trust other sellers. So I will be going into the Babies R Us to buy one. I have not reallycompared any yet, but see that they can be reasonably priced, so I will just look at them and compare in the store. I am due in August, good luck to you!
I wouldn’t reccomend it. Boots and other places do a digital one for £24.99 and it works fine but you go into a panic if you can’t find the heartbeat!
Its early days and would be very hard to locate unless you knew what you were doing.
Just relax, save your money for a decent pram, and enjoy your pregnancy.
id recommend renting one over buying one…

I think you might just end up getting really stressed out by it if you can’t find the heartbeat because of a similar situation…
