With my first pregnancy, when I was 18 weeks( I was supposed to be 13wks) I went to the ER for vaginal bleeding.I was worried, knew that bleeding could be a sign of a miscarriage. I had an ultrasound done(found out I was further along) and the baby was fine and not distressed or anything.Turns out I had a low lying placenta too. I had to follow up with my DR and he said that the placenta usually can move up before the end of the pregnancy. If it didn't, worst case would be a c-section delivery.. It was scary but I just done what the doc said. Rest. Don't lift heavy stuff and don't worry.

I had this problem later on in my pregnancy and I found out I also had placenta previa. Take it easy, drink lots of water, and walk your butt off! Its nothing you can really do to prevent spotting or bleeding..but after my first incident..I didnt experience anymore bleeding till I went into labor! It happens, but since the baby is doing great dont worrry! Your follow up appointment... will be a walk in and walk out! best wishes!

mainly if you bleed do go to the doctor but don't freak out unless there is tissue in the blood....you will probably be told to take care and relax to prevent any more complications..take a load off and don't do any heavy lifting..also stay away from caffeine and smoking whether it's first or second hand...a friend of mine had a lot of issues with her pregnancy between placenta tears and bleeding and passing tissues..at one point they thought she had lost the baby but did an ultrasound to double check and baby was there with a strong heartbeat..baby was born with low birth weight and a low blood sugar but a few weeks old now and doing great..so just don't stress and you'll probably be fine ^_^ good luck and congratulations

Bleeding the placenta previa is very scary!
Most women with a previa ( even a complete previa - where the cervix is totally covered by the placenta) do just fine. They will monitor you to see if the placenta moves- they usually do. They will probably ask that you take it easy and stop exercising for a few weeks if you have not already. Unfortunately, if you bleed again you may end up on bed rest- be prepared for this and get your affairs in order so if it happens you are not hit with the additional stress of suddenly being stuck in bed. If the placenta does not migrate (they usually do) you may have to have a c-section (again, just prepare yourself for it).

Good luck!
