No baby movement today?
I am 17 weeks today. I started feeling my baby move when I was about 14 weeks. Between weeks 15-16 I felt the baby move all the time. Yesterday I barley felt it at all. And so far today still nothing….
Should I be worried?
I have a fetal doppler at home and I heard the beat last night. The weird thing is it used to sound like a horse galloping, but now all I hear is like a WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP. The beat is about 160 per minute.
Should I call my doctor or is this normal???
Thanks:)

I had this same thing happen to me when I was about 20-23 weeks. I would get really nervous when I didn’t feel her moving. However, one night I was trying to get my mind off of fearing the worst. So I started to read What to Expect When You’re expecting, to see if it had anything in there about it. Well, low and behold, it was one of the "questions" they had listed. Thankfully it is completely normal for babies to go through active days and sleepy days. Just like us! There are just some days you feel lazy and other days you feel active. It was very re-assuring for me to read this.
The next morning I was going to the bathroom and she was squirming around and playing. She was just having one of her sleepy days. You will soon start to notice your babies activity habits. My girl goes for about 5-6 days of activity and then she will be lazy for a couple days or so. You can start keeping a journal of babies movements to put your mind at ease. Start kick counts (even though you’re still early), logging each time the baby moves and how many times and how long the period lasted. Record it each time and you will be able to tell when the baby is most active and if the baby has a pattern yet.
Its fun to read over your journal and see how much baby really does move through out the day!
Your baby could be sleepy and just napping. If youre getting a heartbeat, the baby should be fine. A heartbeat that high usually indicates a girl. If you’re worried, call the doctor to set your mind at ease
Your baby is still pretty smal lin size, so you wont feel the movements consistantly right now. Your baby still has plenty of room to move around.
160 beats per minute is really good. You could be picking up your heartbeat, instead of your babies. BUT, you heartbeat would not be 160bpm, so it has to be your babies.
