Sometimes you can even tell if it's a boy or girl by how fast or slow the heart beat is. But it's not a reliable method. And please don't fell like you can't ask her OB these questions. If you've got a good doctor he or she will be more than happy to answer. Even if you think it's stupid. My doctor got to where he would have us come in last because of all the questions my husband asked. A routine check up took about an hour and a half because of all the questions he asked.
