The sound is crystal clear Its the same kind that my doctor uses I have been listening to my baby's heart since 12weeks. I did'nt want to spend $25 on one at the store that may or may not work so I went straight for kill. I think its pretty cool. I have seen several at babybeat.com that cost alot more than that and have a little better quality. But I am pretty sure that you have to have a prescription or approval from your doctor. If you do have approval, then you can rent one from this website, and they are the same grade that your doctor uses. If you have no approval, then you might want to at least use this site to kind of compare what doctors use to what you want to get.
