I had exactly the same. She would stop moving for days, and it really got to me! But I spoke to my Midwife and found that you wont feel recurrent movements until twenty six weeks plus. So don't worry yourself. Once you get to that stage, start counting your movements make sure you have more than ten a day. But if you are really worrying, give your midwife or doctor a call.. She will probably tell you the same.. But they may send you for a CTG monitoring which will detect your babies heartbeat and movements, to just be on the safer side. Good luck but i'm sure everything will be fine.

Baby is still very small. So you are not going to feel all movements yet. Most women do not feel the baby move until after 20 weeks. The fact that you heard the heartbeat this morning is very reassuring. Relax, everything is fine. :)

As long as you are feeling some movement, everything is okay! She/he is probably going through a growth spurt and is sleeping a lot. If you don't feel ANY movement in a 12-24hr time span, then you should call your OB.

Try not to worry. Sometimes babies are just more sleepy. :) If you don't feel movement for a couple of hours, drink some orange juice and lay down for awhile. They usually gets them moving! If that doesn't work, just give your doctor a call. It will put your mind at ease. Good luck!

If you heard the heartbeat, everything should be fine :)
Remember 18weeks is still quite early so they're not really strong enough or big enough to be kicking you about all the time lol.

My baby stopped moving at 27 weeks and I was really worried but everyone kept telling me everything was fine but I was worrying so I went to the hospital and found out he'd stopped breathing and died :(

The point of telling you this is not to scare you or worry you because if you can hear the heartbeat, baby is breathing! The point is to always go with your instincts because they are generally right. And even if they aren't, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hope everything goes well for you!

you shouldnt have to worry about it. it all depends on the baby really, and on weather or not it wants to move. my brother almost never moved in all nine months but came out just fine

You have great answers already! I just want to add that sometimes, the baby is placed in a way that the movements are not felt, for example his back might be on the wall of the uterus and the kicks are not touching you. He's still tiny so he can't reach one side to the other yet. You'll see very soon you will feel more, to me it's the best part of being pregnant!
Good luck!
