Is it worth buying a fetal doppler?

I am so tempted to buy a fetal doppler from Amazon. I would like to be able to hear the heart beat every so often between prenatal visits. Is it really worth it though? Or in the end just a waste of money?

First, all you women who are giving the girl who had a good experience a thumbs down just because she had a good experience are pretty ignorant. Grow up you childish fools. It’s crazy to think you have children and act so immature. Her answer was based on HER experience.
ANYWAYS. They are made to have a fun experience. I had one and it worked. Did it work every single time I checked? No. Did I enjoy it when it worked? Yes. It’s not a waste of money because you can pass it down to friends and family. Always read the product reviews to make sure you’re getting the one that has the most positive feedback.
I’d say buying it would be a waste of time, your going to use it for what 6 months? max. maybe try renting one.
i bought one at Walmart they day I found out i was pregnant. Im 11 weeks now and havent use it yet but i cant wait!!!!
Unless you go through your doctor and rent a medical-grade doppler, it’s a waste of money. Lots and lots of people are unable to ever hear anything at all on those at-home machines, or else they might finally hear something at the very end. It’s pretty rare to hear people who think they are great.
i did buy one and used it 3-4 times, it was very difficult to find the heart beat and to be honest you can turn neurotic and worry if you cant hear it.
i wouldn’t bother!!
My friend Brenna has one, and I know another girl who has one too. I REALLY want one. I don’t think it would be a waste of money. Plus, if you get one, and you know someone else who’s prego, you could share it with them too! All in all, I’d say go for it.
And also, how much are they? I WANT ONE TOO!
If you get one from Wal-Mart it is a waste of money, but if you get one of those really good ones than I would say yeah, go ahead and get one. You might only use it for 6 months, but you can use it when you have other kids. Also, a lot of moms might get scared because they haven’t felt the baby move, but if you have one of these it will reassure you that the baby is alright. Hope this helped and good luck.
Not at all. They are a giant waste of money. If you must get one then ask your doctor where to buy the ones s/he uses. They’ll cost you an arm and a leg but they’ll at least work. The ones you can buy are crap. My friend had one (she spent some good money on it too) and 4 of us have tried it, not a single one could find a heartbeat. Even at 39 weeks they couldn’t find anything.
Also, if you are able to find it sometimes you won’t find it every time. The times you can’t find it you’ll freak out and panic. You may think you won’t but every woman does.
I never got one. I was tempted to in the beginning, especially when the doctor and midwives couldn’t find the HB at 10, 11, and 12 weeks. I was getting worried.. but then at 14 weeks, the MW got it. After that I felt fine about everything - much more calm after hearing the HB. I think getting one would just cause me to be hyper-vigilant and would have been a waste of time. I am glad I never did cave and buy one. They are really $$ and they’re only useful for a couple of weeks (once you start feeling the baby move, then any worry really starts to dissipate).
Hope that helps!
It is totally worth it! I got one off of amazon too and I use it all the time! I got it because I found out I was high risk and worried all the time! It is amazing to hear the baby’s heartbeat and you can even hear the baby kicking the doppler and moving around. I would absolutely recommend it! Make sure you read the reviews on it too to make sure you get a good one! Congratulations with the pregnancy!
i would say it is a waste of money. then it would just make you worry more if you have problems finding the heartbeat.
