ive hired a fetal doppler for home use, im 17 weeks pregnant and when i use it i can hear a swooshing sound which i know is the placenta. when i hear what i think is the heart beat it sounds a bit like a car alarm,i cant describe it any other way! it goes woo woo woo etc,im sure u know what i mean! is that the babies heartbeat or mine or even something else?

no the babies heartbeat sounds like a galloping horse, your heartbeat would be a lot slower. the car alarm sound is the sounds inside your womb, not the baby. if you hear woooosh or kind of like that, that is the baby moving.
congratulations and good luck x
If its really quick its the babies. Try placing your own heartbeat by putting 2 fingers on your neck to feel a pulse, and if they match its yours, if not its the babies. Hope this helps
Yes, thats your babies heart - ask your doc to let you hear it with his stethoscope next time. It’s amazing!
i had This problem with mine to lol confusing huh! but youl get hang of it,try moving it around so get used to the sound of your own heart beat, then will help to tell difference, baby’s is usually allot faster, and heard other people say it sounds like galloping horses, suppose it does in a way,i was about 20weeks when got the proper hang of it good luck!
The baby’s heart is normally about twice as fast as yours. Roughly 130 - 150 beats a minute compared to yours of around 70.
Count the beats. If it is 60-90 beats per minute then it is yours. If it is 130-170 per minute then it is the baby’s.
yes thats the babys heartbeat i have always thought it sounded like little horse hoves running..its such a cute sound….. the bubs heart beat will be alot faster then yours thats another way to tell
