A couple of things........not to worry you, but to be totally honest with you--yes, the heart can sometimes stop and a miscarriage follow once it has been detected early on. I only know because it happened to me. Secondly, please don't freak out if you don't hear it on the Doppler at 10w2d. There is a good chance that you will, but often times it is difficult until around 12 weeks.
Don't get discouraged, stay positive. I had a miscarriage too, and now will be 25 weeks with a baby boy tomorrow :)

Well, I read on babycenter.com that after you see a heartbeat, the risk for miscarriage goes down drastically. I just got to see mine too at 7 weeks!!
Congrats and dont worry! Odds are in your favor that everything will be fine.

seeing the heart beat is a good sign- hearing it is even better. I think the chance of miscarriage drops like 20% then? Unfortunately, there is always a chnce of the baby's heart stopping. After 20 weeks its a stillborn.... some women go all the way into their due date and go into labor and when they get to the hospital the baby has no heartbeat. So I don't want to scare you but like I said there is always a CHANCE that something can in fact go wrong still. But yes, after you hear the heartbeat the chances go down significantly, and every week the chances get even better.

Everything sound great at the moment. I had severe cramping and bleeding when I was pregnant. I had an ultrasound done at 6 weeks and 2 days also and everything was ok. I saw my little ones heartbeat and everything was so amazing. I had ultrasounds done every week done until I was 13 weeks. I now have a beautiful healthy little boy. There is still a chance that you can have a miscarriage. My friend had one at 13 weeks. Everything was fine up until then. Don't worry. Try to enjoy this time. because when you get bigger it is not as fun.

Generally it is a good sign and they say that once you see the heart beating that it decreases the chance of miscarriage slightly, but there are still things that can happen.

Well... if you want the truth, yes, the babies hear can stop beating once it has started. This can be caused by many things, there are many stillborns that are born every day because the cord has gotten wrapped around their neck and the heart has stopped beating. There are many things that can go wrong. You can still technically have a miscarriage up until 20 weeks, after that point the baby would be considered stillborn. There are still other complications that can occur after that, such as your water breaking (which happened to me at 24 weeks, and I lost my son), placental abruption in which the placenta breaks away and can cause problems for both the baby and the mom. Placenta previa, which can also cause problems for both and usually ends up in a c-section. HELLP syndrome, pre-eclampsia, and IUGR are all possibilities. Given all of these are rare and don't happen often, but they do still happen. I wouldn't worry too much about it though, because most pregnancies are perfectly normal and there are no complications.

With my first pregnancy, at the first ultrasound there was a heart beat. A few weeks later when I had another done, they couldn't pick up a heart beat and I ended up m/c. So yes it's possible for it to be there one time and gone the next. With my second pregnancy I was terrified every single time I went in for an ultrasound that this would be the time they lost the heart beat, other than being tired and moody I didn't have any other symptoms of being pregnant like morning sickness. So I know exactly how you feel.

heartbeat is a good sign, but not a sure thing.

i was bleeding and cramping my first pregnancy at week 7 and saw a heartbeat on Tuesday. But had a m/c on Friday.

Also, not having symptoms is totally normal. Relax. Everything should be fine.
