Round ligament pain - The infamous round ligament pain strikes pregnant women often in their second and third trimester. As in early pregnancy the uterus continues to stretch and grow. As the uterus expands the ligaments stretch to support it. Mild cramping may occur. If bleeding or back pain occurs or the cramps get worse - call the doctor ASAP. I cramped up too and it scared me since it was my first child and I did not know what to expect.

Round ligament pain. It can be dull period like cramping or sharp shooting pains about 2 1/2 inches off either side of your belly button and they can shoot to your vagina/cervix area. Since there is no bleeding and you hear a heart beat, I'd say that's what it is. Yes it's normal 95% of all women feel it sometime in their pregnancies. You can take 1 regular strength tyelnol (Advil and ibuprofen are no nos) for the pain. It's normal because it's your uterus and ligaments stretching to accommodate a growing baby. Look up Round Ligament pain on the internet.

its just your body making room for the baby. also make sure you stay hydrated because the cramping wont be nearly as bad if you are drinking your fluids. it happend to me all the time
