My sister-in-law just gave me hers. She said she couldn't hear any baby noises until 36 weeks, which by that point, was pretty pointless.

I bought one, I don't remember the brand< and it never worked. I could hear all kinds of body noises from me, but never was able to hear baby. The one I had said it didn't pick up anythign until 20 weeks. I bought it at 22 weeks and tried at least once a week and was never able to hear anythign up to the time I had my baby. It was a waste of money for me. They do work for some people though. It just depends. Mine was not, but I've been told that if your placenta is facing out toward the front of your belly it may not work. Dopplar can't hear through the placenta. Best of luck to you though.

i hired one off ebay its similar to that one but its just a different make and i heard the heartbeats at 11 weeks and it was around 160-168 for about a week and now im 14 weeks and lately its been in the 150s. its useful from around now as you are 12 weeks but it might still take a while for you to get used to it and find the heartbeat and sometimes it can still be difficult to find. the further along you get the easier it is to find and recently my baby tends to stay on my left side so i always find it very quickly just dont get worried if you dont find it straight away even at 12 weeks i freaked out as i had difficulties. its a great relief when you do find it though and you'll love it!
