My son's was slightly higher. As for it dropping it could of been from him moving around and causing interfence between him and the doppler. A med tech, midwife or OB are trained to use those. For just the average person, all we get is a set of instructions. At your next appointment, take your doppler with you, and ask someone to show you exactly how to use it so you don't have the same problem again. Congrats on the new little one!!
