I bought a fetal doppler but it’s confusing me?
I bought a babymad babysounds fetal doppler on amazon and I thought it was OK for the first day or so but then for some reason started to get confused. It’s so hard to tell the difference between my heartbeat and the baby’s as it has no LCD screen. Today I tried very hard to find the baby’s heartbeat but felt nothing. I had an app with the midwife today who found it almost straight away.
I was told that the heartbeat of a baby is mean’t to sound like a ‘galloping horse’ but myne often sounds like that too!
The midwife suggested I send it back but I was silly and lost some of the packaging and guarentee.
I am 18 weeks pregnant on Thursday.

The big difference between yours and baby’s heartbeat is the rate- yours will be about 60-80 beats a minute and baby’s will be almost double that
hmm yeah i heard those babysounds ones are pretty crap… i brought one off ebay and works really good. also that it takes some skill to find the heartbeat if you dont really kno where u are looking good luck xoxo
i bought a heart monitor kit and i could listen to the heart beat from around 20 weeks or 21 or could be more i can’t remember,i tried loads of times to here it before put its in possible all i heard was like the baby moving about like water noises and bubbles and when i eventually did here the heart beat it beats faster then ours so you will be able to tell the difference and it depends on what way the baby is it took a while for me to find the heart beat
