How does the OB always know right where to find the baby’s heartbeat?

I know they’re OBs for a reason, I am baffled that they can always find it right away. I know if I had a fetal doppler, I would have to search around for the heartbeat.

They feel for the head then for the babies spine when they know the location of those two things, it is pretty easy to know where the heart will be.
they dont.. sometimes theyre off and have to try for a few minutes, it all depends on the position of the baby. i had a friend who actually had to go for an ultrasound at 15 weeks cuz they couldnt find the heartbeat with the doppler…….but the baby turned out to be ok. everyones diff
Yea, but you have to think about it, this is pretty much what they do all day. They know right where to look because that place is usually the same place on every expectent mother.
