I heard to heartbeat at 10 weeks, although it was a bit hard to find. By 12 weeks I could easily pick it up everytime. But it depends a bit on the type of doppler. If you are using a proper medical doppler you will be able to pick it up at 13 weeks. If it is one of those rubbish 'fetal listening systems' you might never pick it up!

I am considerably overweight and heard my son's at 13 weeks with a home doppler. It really depends on the type of doppler you've ordered- if it is a proper doppler then chances are you will, but if you have something like Angelsounds you may not for a while yet. By all means try but if you can't hear anything now it doesn't mean there is anything wrong at all, as the baby is still tiny.

I heard my baby's heartbeat back when I was 8w4d w/a ultrasound ... it can take longer w/a doppler.

With my last OB visit, my doctor had a real hard time finding the baby's heartbeat ... we would hear it for a few seconds and than loose it. So, he whipped out their little ultrasound machine so he could physically see the heart beating.

Don't get distraught if you can't hear your baby's heartbeat ... When we had a hard time hearing it, I freaked out almost. You're about two weeks ahead of me, so maybe that's far enough along for you to hear it better.

Don't confuse your heartbeat w/ the babies ... they baby has a really fast heartbeat.

I purchased one of these when I was around just 5 weeks pregnant and could not pick anything up until I was around 13 weeks.
At this stage though,It was always really hard to 'find' where the baby was and as a result find the heartbeat..which can be a little un-nerving in itself. So stay focused..don't start panicking if you try quite a few times and hear nothing.
Tip:At 13 weeks the best place I found to pick up the heart beat was below your naval, sometimes right down almost to the pubic bone.
Now,at almost 33 weeks I can find it easily straight away,so are too looking to put mine on ebay so someone else can feel that magic!!
You'll crack it eventually..Good Luck & Congratulations!! xx
