Home fetal doppler question?
I purchased a home fetal doppler machine last week and heard have been able to hear my baby from the first day I used it. I am currently 14 weeks. I always find it very low (right above my pubic hair) and it is always very fast. My question is, every time I listen to it, after a few seconds I hear this loud noise that repeats itself randomly. I’m not sure what it is. It is the same noise that the machine would make if I were flipping the receiver. It is very loud and hurts my ears! Is that the baby moving or could it be hiccups? This is my first baby and I haven’t felt it move yet so I don’t feel anything when I hear these noises. I’m sure there’s nothing wrong, I’m just curious if anyone else out there has experienced this. Thanks in advance!

If it’s a sound like a scratched record, that’s your baby kicking the doppler. Mine did that at my 14wk appointment so my midwife told me what it was.
She also cautioned me to only use my doppler for a minute then put it up for the day. Even though it’s thought to be safe there are some doubts about frequent or extended use.
It really could be the baby moving. It is kind of a strange whoop sound.
