Those you buy like at Babies R Us are usually cheap and don't pick up an accurate heartbeat (meaning, they usually find the uterine artery rather than the fetal heart rate) and worry the mother. It cost less than 80 bucks and I was able to find the heartbeat around 12 weeks using this doppler. It is not as high quailty as the one that I rented early on but it works none the less.
