Have you ever heard the heartbeat speed up on Doppler?
While listening with my fetal Doppler, I have actually heard my baby’s heartbeat speed up quite rapidly on two separate occasions. Both times, coincidentally, I had finished drinking about 1/2 can of Diet Pepsi. Has anyone else actually heard the heartbeat speed up while listening in a short period of time and know what this could be attributed to? Could it be sensing the Doppler and reacting to the sound waves?
Also, I am 12 weeks 2 days pregnant and have been hearing the heartbeat since 9 weeks 3 days with a home fetal Doppler. On ultrasound at 8 weeks 2 days, the heartbeat was 180. It has stayed between 160 and 170 since then.

yes i had one for my seond and third pregnancy, (as i had a stillborn with my first and this really helped me through my pregnancies knowing i could check the baby at anytime) they are a god send absolutly briliant! yes i heard it speed up a few times!
when your baby moves their herat rate rises just like ours! it may have been when you had your pepsi the coldness may have made your baby move and this is what caused the heart rate to increase
Their heart beats speed up when they are moving.
well i think maybe it sped up b/c u were drinking a soda. if they babies heart rate speeds up, usually yours does as well.
also, i highly doubt the baby is sensing the doppler.
