why dont u allow the professional do the job for you.
dont meddle with ur body at 19th. week. It is critical for the baby's growth.
why do YOU want to know the heart beat
why are u going into the ads. and getting influenced
remember if is 00000000000000000001% failure rate for the markting person/product, it is 100% for you.
Take care
Be conservative and consult a doc.

Well I never used a fetal scope BUT i have an angelsounds fetal doppler and it works pretty well. I have not used it in awhile though because the fetal movement puts my mind at rest. I bought mine at 17 weeks and heard a definite heartbeat and its only like 30-40 dollars. Good luck!

I think if you are interested in hearing your child's heartbeat you invest in a fetal doppler. You can rent them. *They are not the same as what you see in Wal-Mart or Babies R Us - those are not dopplers. My friend has one and I STILL cannot hear my son's heartbeat on one at 32 weeks.

Here is an example of a place you can rent them:

A fetal scope is hard to use. My doctor doesn't bother with them and still uses doppler on me - I'm 32 weeks.

Just a word though. Depending on the location of the baby and placenta finding the heartbeat can sometimes be tricky. My son's wasn't super easy to find until about 25 weeks - even the doctors and nurses would struggle. That's why I decided not to invest in one, just because I didn't want to freak myself out. A lot of people have great success with them and it sets their mind at ease. My 22 weeks I was feeling my son all the time so that was enough.
