first off…the ones you can buy at walmart and stuff are much harder to hear things and even if you hear the heartbeat you are not able to calculate what the heart beat is!!…i recently bought a fetal doppler from ebay….it is like the ones they use at your appointments….it has ultrasound gel and everything…when you locate the heartbeat…it has a digital screen that tells you what it is….it has been worth every penny i have spent…i have done alot of research and there is nothing saying they are harmful…they are not the same as an ultrasound and safe to use more often…i check the heart beat everyday…..and I LOVE IT!!! i paid around 120 for it but there is not enough money in this world to hear the life in me is still there…it has taken alot of my worries away…and you can also be notified of a problem before your monthly checks!!!…p.s…if you purchase one on ebay…the one i got is bebe 200-t….at first it took me a little to find the baby because they are really low…so that made me discouraged at first because i thought i wasted my money but they pretty much guarentee you can hear it around 12 weeks!! good luck
I heard that you really cant hear your babies heart beat on it until that baby is around 18 weeks and by then you can feel them moving so most women dont get them!
I havnt rented one, but if you are going to, i would suggest going to Stork radio, they have many different fetal heart monitors, and they have great prices. The only thing is you have to have an ok from your doc, they are very strict about renting, they want an ok from the doc. All their monitors are the same versions that most doctors use. I was going to get one, but i bought a bebe sounds fetal monitor, and decided i didnt really feel like ordering one online.
Just so you know you can now buy them at wal.mart no joke. Only 20 bucks.
I have one from Bebe Sounds and I can’t get it to find the heartbeat, so it doesn’t work for me, but I know plenty of others who use them and love it. You can pick them up from Walmart or Target for around $20.00
