My daughter is 19w2d and we bought one from amazon and it is exactly like the one the doctor uses at my daughter's appointments. It is a Hi-bebe and we paid $125.00 for it. It worked at 10 weeks. It is the best money I've ever spent.

Now, when you first start using it you may not find it right away, It takes practice. Don't get discouraged if you can't find it right away. You will hear 2 different heartbeats. One will range from 100-120 bpm, that is your heartbeat. The other one will range from 120-190 and that will be the baby's.

We also bought one of those $20.00 ones. We didn't realize until we opened it that it won't work until the 7th month. I didn't want to rent one simple because they cost about $25.00 a month and this way we can use it on later pregnancies. We listen to the baby's heartbeat every week. It is awesome.
Congrats on the baby.

I bought one when i was 11 weeks pregnant and heard the heartbeat immediately. The one i brought was a second hand medically certified one ( like the midwives use.) I'm now 30 weeks and its honestly the best thing i have ever brought in my life, its put my mind at rest so many times. Its made by a company called bistos (Hi-bebe) 2.0MHz. I got it off the internet www.anawiz.com. I hope that gives you some ideas! Best of luck!
