I think perhaps you are picking up sounds from your placenta. When using the doppler, fetal heart sounds are like the hoof-beats of a galloping horse. A rushing wind-like sound is audible from the placenta. Your right, your own heartbeat can be detected! I have not . . . I already know that I am expecting twins from a 6 1/2 week ultrasound . . . we rented a hospital grade doppler and had to return it because it made my CRAZY - I had trouble really finding both of them and it would freak me out! I have not . . . I already know that I am expecting twins from a 6 1/2 week ultrasound . . . we rented a hospital grade doppler and had to return it because it made my CRAZY - I had trouble really finding both of them and it would freak me out! But if you were more skilled than me . . . it would probably work!
