Has anyone bought a fetal doppler?
Hi im considering buying a fetal doppler as i was so paranoid during my last two pregnancies.I know you can hire them but it works out more expensive.I had one of those cheaper £30 ones with the headphones before and didnt rate it very mch so this time i want a proper one for around £80 that has the loud speaker.Has anyone had one and if so, how did you find it and where did you get it?

I would have to reccommend e bay for that one. Quite easy to get proper doppler’s there cheaper than £80.
I purchased one of the Bebe Sounds dopplers from Walmart. I would not recommend it at all. I heard nothing but static with it.
I have the bebesounds one from wal mart. I don’t see how people can’t hear anything with it. I’m considered overweight and I find my babies heartbeat every time I try to listen. BUT I wouldn’t recommend it to you since you want it to be sure you hear the heartbeat and like others say, some people have a hard time finding it. I’d say if you want to then try it, but be ready to be patient and not panic if you can’t hear it. Also it works in the third trimester. If you want one to work sooner go with doppler.
Be wary of any dopplers that only cost double digits. We recently bought dopplers for our clinic and the price is between $400 and $800 depending on the features.
Anything you can buy in a store like Walmart is just a microphone with speaker. A doppler is essentially a radar/motion detector.
Here’s a website that rents and sells. I’m not endorsing them, but it gives you an idea of the cost of a real dopper.

I rented the second trimester doppler from fetalbond.com. It cost me $23 dollars a month and I have never had any problem with it. It can pick up the heart beat at 12 weeks. Check it out!
Hello. I rented one from http://www.babyfm.com/. It works great!
Hi hun i bought a foetal Doppler and it was the worst thing to do, I wouldn’t recommend any expecting mother to buy one. When i first used it i couldn’t hear the baby’s heartbeat and i was so worried and scared that i was spending my whole time trying to find the baby’s heart beat and everything else went out the window. I was only happy when i went for my scan and i ask the midwife if she would let me hear the heart beat. As soon as i got home i thrown out the Doppler.
I bought mine for £60 from Ebay. Its the same as the ones the midwives use and i could hear my baby from 10 weeks. I tend not to use it so much nowadays, more for my husband really as I can feell her moving around all the time!!
They are well worth it though.
