For mommies who have looked for a fetal doppler that actually works…?
Hi there! Sorry, this isn’t really a question, but it’s not exactly spam either so I hope no one decides to be lame and report me because I couldn’t think of any other way to let you all know about this: My sister gave me a fetal doppler last night, she got it for from a medical supply store and it can pick up the heartbeat as early as 12 weeks! I am 24 weeks currently and I was able to find it immediately!
I just wanted to share this because I have seen a TON of questions about fetal dopplers on here, mostly wanting to know if the ones from Wal-Mart work (they don’t), and if there is a way to get one that DOES work that’s not hundreds of dollars. So there ya go, if you know of a medical supply store around you, go check it out! The brand of mine is Baby Sound, it’s portable, battery powered and you need headphones.
I guess I kinda do have a question: How often can I use it? I’m not exactly sure what it does but is it bad for the baby to use it too often?
My sister used to work in a baby store of some kind, but she’s not a medical professional or anything.

hey - well in answer to ur question, u can use them however many times u want to, it doesnt matter as its only sound waves and they dont do any harm to the baby at all (much the same as ultrasound technology)
if i had one i probably wouldnt use it more than once a fortnight.
Thank you for posting this…I want one but I don’t know where to find one. Is your sister a nurse or in the medical field, or is it open to the public?
I’d say maybe use it every other day or so…just to be safe.

I ordered one form hi-baby.com, its only £10 a month and is great.
It says on the leaflet that came with mine to use it once a week or every 2-3 days. I used mine every day at first but i use it every couple of days now, dont think it can really do any harm xxx
