You're probably picking up your own heartbeat. When i listen to my babys heartbeat i can hear hers but then if i move it slightly sometimes i can hear my own heartbeat and the number on the doppler also drops. The babys heartbeat might also mask your own heartbeat so when the baby moves away then you hear you own and then the baby could move back. I doubt the babys heartbeat would drop so low and then back up again, if youre worried though ask a doctor about it

I did a quick search through Google under 'fetal heartrate drop', and 'fetal heartrate under 100' etc out of interest when I read your question. A lot of the results were in relation to having contractions, which clearly you can't be having at under 17 weeks. If I were in your position I would call NHS Direct (if you're in the UK), or the hospital with the symptoms and ask their opinion.

If you are picking up your own heartbeat, then the doctor will be able to determine exactly how the baby's doing.

Good luck sweetie, I'm sure everything will be fine :-)

Completely normal. When I was having a stress test on my son his heart rate was ranging from 80-100, to 160-180 then back down to 100. I freaked out because the fact it was going up and down. They said its normal and nothing to be worried about.I did have him 24 hours later due to preeclampsia but that was my blood pressure. If you feel somethings wrong go with your gut feeling and have a stress test at your hospitals Maternity Ward
