Go very slowly or you could miss it. Also stay in one spot and rock the doppler from side to side slowly. It may take a couple tries, but you should find it. I rented a doppler with 2 of my pregnancies. And you're right, the 98-102 is probably you. The babies heart rate should be between 120-160 or around there.
