I'm like you and didn't show up on a HPT for a couple of months! I know how frustrating that is, when you know you are pregnant but the test wont agree! I agree with the hospital - the whooshing sound can be an artery (not a vein) that you are picking up - but a beat of 150 - 160 is definately not you! Is the doppler saying this number or are you counting it yourself? Sometimes a doppler can "double up" and it's actually your heartbeat and not fetal (we have to watch that, just in case of a intrauterine fetal death - i've heard of midwives thinking the beat was fetal and it wasn't...and that is the worst tragedy )*too heartbreaking* If in doubt, go get an ultrasound - because if you are picking up a beat, then you'd probably be over 11 weeks pregnant...and an ultrasound won't miss that ! All the best xo

Usually if it is even a faint positive then you are pregnant. HCG will still be in your system after you have a baby but usually it is pretty much gone at about 3-4 weeks post baby. Try taking it first thing in the morning. I know alot of ladies who never had a positive urine test and they were all pregnant. My guess is "Congrats You have a baby on the way!" I would recomment making an appointment any way (I am very surprised your doctor didnt encourage that). You could be 10 weeks along ig it has been two months!
