Fetal Heartbeat?
Is there a way that a doctor can mistake your own heartbeat for your baby’s when using the doppler on your stomach?
my heartbeat was high anyway and was about 127…i was quite nervous, and usually it doesnt take but a second to find the heartbeat but she took a minute. she said that the babys heartbeat was right below 130 is why i asked if she could mistake mine for the babys. im 19weeks pregnant.

No. Your baby’s heartbeat will be at least twice as fast as your own, which is why they can tell if it’s your’s or your baby’s. At your antenatal clinic or next doctors appointment or scan, ask if you can listen to it and you’ll see for yourself =)
Not if he went to medical school.
no because the babies is much faster and very quiet and your heart is not in your stomach
nope..if so you should change doctors..Good luck and Congrats
n o the pounding force and rate is probably different….he can probably hear both at the same time…plus remember he/she has probably been doing that sort of thing for a long time
NO
no i dont think so
The fetal heartbeat is so much faster than yours.
It would not be good if yours beat that fast.
its hard to make a mistake like that
I sure hope not the baby will have a faster heartbeat
if he told you its the baby, hes right. lol. dont doubt the doc. he didnt go to med school for fun
I believe so they mistook my heart beat (student) for babies with those electric scanner thingys! But they do normally notice after little while at babies a lot faster then ours!
No. A babys heartbeat is twice as fast as an adults.
not really
the doctor should know how to find the babies heartbeat
and plus, your heartbeat would be slower and comping from the chest
as opposed to the babies which comes from the stomach and is much faster.
No, I heard my babies heartbeat yesterday for the first time. I initially went to the doctor two weeks ago but the baby was still in the pelvic area therefore when we tried to listen in we heard no heart beat. Yesterday, it took a few seconds to tune into the strong little heart beat which was so clear and so so so amazing!!
I see what your saying, but I would’nt worry I’m 100% sure they cannot mistake the heartbeat! Plus have you heard of the gender predictor that suggests a babies heartbeat under 140 is a boy and over 140 is a girl, mine was 160!!
I think we pregnant women just worry about everything, I know I do!
No, not under normal circumstance’s. The baby’s heart beat is allot faster than yours would be. Not to mention that the two hearts beats (yours and the baby’s) are about 2 feet apart.
A doctor shouldnt make that mistake… Your heartbeat would beat much slower then the babys! It should be very obvious as a baby heartbeat is very fast!
You should be able to first hear a heartbeat between 6-8 weeks! If you feel that unsure maybe you should go to see a different doctor just to recheck …. So that you are not worrying needlessly!
Hope this was helpful! Best of Luck!
very doubtful. your baby’s heart rate is much much faster than yours. i heard my baby’s heart beat for the first time last week. the doctor searched for a while. he kept finding my heart beat. finally, when he found the baby’s, i knew it wasn’t mine. it was beating extremely fast. it sounded like a train going by really fast (as the doctor worded it.)
unlikely, the baby’s heart rate is much faster than your own so it is hard to mistake. They can often hear the pulse in the placenta and cord but this will be a lot slower than the baby.
no the babies is alot faster then ours
