Fetal heartbeat 194? Oh my gosh that is so high!?
I had my ultrasound on Monday and they said the heartbeat was 194. My doctor only has the doppler that can tell it’s heartbeat at about 14 weeks. I am only 10 1/2. I have asked the doctor and he said that he has not recieved my ultrasound reports yet. My family thinks it is more than one. My Dr. was concerned about my uterus size and my HcG level. That is why I had the ultrasound. However I don’t believe there is two considering that my baby was bouncing off the walls and flipping and turning and moving all over the place. The nurse said that when we run or heart rate goes up so when my baby is flipping and playing it’s heartbeat will also increase. I have two others and they have never had a heart beat that fast. I have looked it up on line and the only thing I am finding is that it could be a infection, which all my tests are in the clear. I have also found that it could be twins. I am waiting on the results. However I am really concerned. Any ideas? Anyone else experience this?
Twins run in my family. My aunt was 8 months when she found out she was having twins. They had a high heartbeat which sounded like one. They also had the same heartbeat the entire time she was pregnant. They were only able to determine them being twins when they found strong heartbeats in two places. Ultrasounds never showed a thing! They are now 5 years old.

Do you drink coffee or a lot of soda? That can increase the baby’s activity as well as the heart rate.
190 is the high end of normal, that’s for sure. If your tests are clear for infection, don’t worry. The smaller the baby the faster the heartrate, and that might be something too, ten weeks is very early.
Good luck and God bless. Congrats on your pregnancy.
It is definitely a boy or 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol, mine all were 160 at heartbeats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you are okay and he is active!!!!!!!!! Best wishes and do be prepared that there may be 2, but I think it was just active!!!!!!!!!
The fetal heartrate is always a lot higher. There are some who think the ultrasound makes them uncomfortable as well.
If it was twins, you’d have two heartbeats, not one high one. We found out we are having twins at 9 weeks. I don’t see how one high heartbeat equals twins. It was probably because your baby was moving so much.
I wasn’t being smart, I am really curious about that.
The only way to know if its twins is if you have a sono or of you feel two different kicks in two different places at the same time (thats how my friend figured out she was having twins) : ) My babys heart rate would go up when she was doing acrobatics too, although never quite so high (but it was fairly close). If the doctor thinks you’re fine, then you probably are.
It could be more than one baby. It also can just be that you have a really active baby, which is great. Stop worrying please, cause that stesses the baby, too.
I’m inclined to agree with the nurse. If the baby was super active at the time, you’ll get a high heartrate. At 12 wks, my baby had a resting heartrate of 175, I can only imagine what it would have been had he been awake!!
One high heart rate does not mean twins. Two heartbeats mean twins. The ultrasound heartrate measures the heartbeat of the baby that they have isolated on the screen. Even if there were a second baby in there, it would not pick up its heartbeat in the other babies (making it appear higher).
If your baby was super active and moving all over, I would find it hard to believe another could hide. It is much much easier to see twins early on, than later. So you were still pretty early. Best of luck, don’t stress.
