My husband is in Afghanistan and I am pregnant, so I just bought a fetal doppler (the machine you hear the heart beat on.) It has a plug that goes right into the microphone jack on the computer so you can hear it and record it. I’ve plugged it in and can hear it, but can’t figure out how to record sound onto my computer, I’m not good electronically at all. It’s a 2010 acer running windows 7 if that matters. Please help, I’m trying to send it to him, he’s dying to hear the baby’s heartbeat.
THANK YOU!!!!

I am nine weeks two days pregnant and just rented a digital fetal Doppler from bellybeats.com that arrived last night. I def heard the babys heart beat but the beats per minute displays a low number like in the 80- 90 range! The display will keep jumping and for a few seconds displayed 180. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks 3 days and it showed a fetal heart rate of 153 bpm. I’m so confused and worried sick. Could the Doppler that I rented be wrong or is did the heart rate drop? Is this cause for concern or am I over analyzing this too much? Help!!!!:(

I saw one of my colleagues using a small handheld fetal doppler to hear her baby’s heartbeats while I was in the US. I wanted to know if such product is available in India.

I am almost 27 weeks and I have notice in the past few days my little girl is moving less. I have a doppler and just listened to her heartrate which was normal, but should I be worried she is not moving as much? I have a doctors appointment a week from tuesday, so I am wondering if I should ring my OB tomorrow? Did this happen to any of you ladies at 27 weeks?

I am 17 weeks pregnant, and i have a fetal doppler. I have had several ultrasounds done and only found one fetus. Anyway, i was listening for the fetal heartbeat tonight, and found the heartbeat on both sides. I know it’s not my own heartrate cause it’s in the 160’s, it’s definately not twins, so i was just making sure i was doing this right, is it possible to hear the heartrate in two different places?

This question is actually for my cousin. She is 11 weeks pregnant, she will be 12 on Thursday, and is having a serious dilemma with her current doctor. Last week she had gone into the office because she had some very very light bleeding for about a day (no cramps or anything and it just went away on its own) but she was understandably worried…bleeding of any kind during pregnancy is scary. So she went in and two different doctors tried and couldn’t find a heartbeat. She was so upset and thinking that she was having a miscarriage. She called me and I went to visit her- I’m 16 weeks pregnant and was given a fetal doppler, so I offered to bring it down for her. It took less than a minute for her to be able to find the heartbeat. It was so loud and SO strong. She was so relieved.
They had her come back in this morning for a follow-up appointment and ended up telling her that her body was preparing for a miscarriage because her hcg levels dropped from 89,000 down to 85,000 over the course of the weekend. She explained that she is able to hear the heartbeat and the doctor told her that she would for a while, but that the baby had stopped growing.
I have already had two children and what she was being told just didn’t make ANY sense to me. She doesn’t have a single sign that she might be having a miscarriage, but because her doctors noticed a drop in her levels they told her that is what was happening. They basically said "yeah, you’re having a miscarriage. have a nice day".
She demanded to have an ultrasound because she just can’t accept that thats what is happening. (she has her appt at 6:30 tonight so we don’t know the result of it yet) I did some research online and according to all the info I came across even 85,000 is WELL within normal levels for that point in pregnancy. And to me it seems extremely likely that they could have been off a little bit on their measurements and she might actually be further along and the levels are dropping because the placenta has taken over…
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced any thing like this, or if anyone has thoughts or advice?? Thank you so much in advance

Most of the day today my stomach has hurt quite a bit. For a few hours it was pretty bad and for maybe 3 minutes it was REALLY bad pain. I called the doctor and they said as long as I don’t have any other symptoms and it doesn’t get worse that I should just drink water and its fine. Has anyone else experienced this? I mean I normally feel a little pulling like pain, sometimes almost stabbing pain during the day in my lower stomach/sides which the doctor said was round ligament pain, but I have never had this achiness all over my belly, especially not most of a whole day. It felt like a bad upset stomach, but there was nothing else with it and nothing that should have caused it. I am 19 weeks and 5 days btw. I have felt the baby move a little tonight and got his/her heartbeat on my fetal doppler. I am just worrying myself sick. Someone said it could have maybe been braxon hicks? But what I’ve read about that said your stomach would be tight and that it would last a few minutes then ease up, and repeat that pattern and this was pretty constant.

Should I be concerned? anyone with similar stories?

Okay, this is a bit of a novel but try to bear with me.
My partner and myself had unprotected sex and I decided to take the morning after pill, my period was late so I took HPT which came back positive, went 2 doctor who confirmed but said I was at increased risk of ectopic pregnancy so recommended an early scan to rule this out.
Went for scan on 23/12/10, the sonographer detected a gestational sac and yolk scan measuring @ 5wks and 2days but since there was no fetal pole suggested a scan in a week.
Went for this scan on 30/12/10 and sonographer detected fetal pole as well as sac measuring @ 6wks and 2days but could not detect a heartbeat advised a further re-scan in 10 days which because of the weekend I was to go on th 10/01/10, but the next day I started bleeding and cramping.
Phoned the gynaecology ward in my area who told me I had to wait over weekend as they didnt have scanning equiptment and phone Monday. I phoned and was given an appointment today at 9.30am.
Went to this appointment and the sonographer had trouble locating my uterus with a transvaginal scan??? Then went on to tell me that the sonographer should have told me last week it was worrying that a heartbeat is not detected at 6 weeks. The baby is still there and according to the sonographer measures 6wks 3days with no heartbeat yet even with the doppler scan (the one to detect blood flow) . The sonographer said in her experience that "didn’t look good" and has told me to keep the appointment on the 10th she also said that a part of the sac had detached from the uterus, she did say that this can sometimes reattach though. If there is no heartbeat, they will diagnose a non-viable pregnancy. Surely if I am bleeding and the baby is still attached it has got to have a better chance than that. I dont know.
I am so worried for my baby, after all the ups and downs of this pregnancy I was just looking for some good news. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this? What was the outcome? I dont know what to think!

This is my first pregnancy, and i’ve been extremely stressed & worried that something will be wrong with the baby..I finally broke down & bought a fetal doppler because I thought that would ease my stress..well I can’t pick up a heartbeat
I’m 11 weeks and 1 day..I had an appointment a couple of weeks ago & had an ultrasound & the heart was beating nice & strong, but i’m still worried! My next appointment is 2 weeks from today..I just want to hear my baby’s heartbeat
Is it normal that I can’t?
Well I stated that I DO NOT have an appointment for 2 more weeks. I know I would hear at a doctor’s office, but I wanted to know if I could with my own doppler.

Hi all, I am currently 8 weeks 4days pregnant and everything is going fantastically!!!! I had a scan when i was 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat etc and all was normal!!! This will be my 2nd baby.
I have my angelsounds fetal doppler from my previous pregnancy and thought i would try and see if i could here bubba’s heartbeating today!! I knew it was a long shot as im only 9 weeks but i tried anyway!!! Anyway it took me ages to find, after hearing my pulse several times. However, i then heard something that was much faster than my heartrate!!!! This was surely bubba’s heartbeat??? x x x x
People who dont want to give me a decent answer dont bother answering at all!!!! "Bubba" is merely another word for baby!!!!!

I’m 10 weeks & 1 day currently, & ordered a fetal doppler a couple of nights ago..it should be in by Friday, and I’m wondering if I’ll be able to hear anything..I ordered it because I stress over every single thing & I know it will give me peace of mind to be able to hear baby’s heartbeat whenever I want.
Thanks
It’s a pretty high quality doppler btw
I know someone who has the exact same doppler as the one I bought, and was able to hear her baby’s heartbeat at around 11 weeks..so I’m hoping it will work the same for me!
Yay! I’m very thin, so hopefully that will help!!

right next to my pubic bone (above it) where the uterus is….i hear a pounding sound but its too slow to be a baby’s heartbeat….some have suggested its blood being pumped through the placenta…however i have the same heart beat sound on the other side???? and a ‘windy’ sound on both sides…basically both sides of my lower belly have heartbeats!!!!! are they my overaies??? whats going on it does not sound like a ‘galloping’ horse. really confused.

im 10 weeks 1 day [pregnant and worried, this is my 2nd bub ive had no bleeding no cramps nothing and have had a bit of morning sickness but what reeally has me worried is i have a fetal heart doppler and can’t find bubs heartbeat, it shouldnt worry me cause they couldn’t find my daughter’s until i was 16 weeks pregnant. but i just feel different with this pregnancy im worried its going to die (as horrible as that is) and worried that its not right or something will happen, i have my 12 week scan after the new yr but its got me so stressed… if something HAD happened with my baby, i would have bled or had cramps right? I just need reassurance!
