I’m thinking about buying a regular stethoscope or a fetal stethoscope and wanted to know if anyone else has done so while pregnant and how early they were able to hear the baby’s heartbeat, at home.

each time i use it i have tiny "stretching" cramping for a few minutes afterwards. I made sure not to push down too hard at all. It makes me scared to use it. Anyone else have the same thing? What do you think is going on? Maybe am i feeling my baby move away from the doppler and its just painful?
oh - i hear the heartbeat just fine. baby seems fine :) And i love the sound! im just worried..

I was so happy to hear my baby’s hearbeat and want to hear it again and I was wondering if anything like that can be found in stores? I am 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

I want a 4d ultrasound and to purchase a fetal doppler but are they really safe during pregnancy?

the babys heartbeat was 129 when i had an ultra sound at 7 weeks but i go for a regular check up tommrrow and shes gona see if we can hear te babys heartbeat with just the hand doppler the docs use and not a u/s machine!!! this is possible rite that i can hear it rite if the babys heart beat was that strong then?

I have a fetal heartbeat doppler, and I was wondering how far along I needed to be in order to hear or detect the baby’s heartbeat with it. It is 3.0 mhz and it has a digital screen that shows the heartrate. It just came to me today and I wasn’t expecting it for another few weeks. I am about 8 weeks pregnant. I was curious, so I decided to try it, but I have no idea what I heard or saw on the display screen. I did detect a heartbeat that was 160 something, but it didn’t last very long. Once I heart the sounds of a heart beating but it appeared to be slower than the rate that was displayed. The 160 something readings that I got didn’t last long. I honestly don’t know if I detected the baby’s heartbeat or what. I know my heart doesn’t beat at 160 or so beats LOL. What do you all think?? Thanks.

I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and my doctor was able to pick up on the fetal heartbeat.
I was hoping to buy or rent one from somewhere in Cape Cod that works well and that will pick up on the heartbeat. My mom, nor my boyfriend have heard the heartbeat, and they’d like to, but are both too busy to accompany me to doctors appointments.
I know they sell them at Babies ‘R’ Us, but do they work well, or are they junk?

Please help!
Thanks!!!

How early can you detect fetal heartbeat?

I was wondering, how early can you detect a fetal heartbeat with a fetal doppler NOT an ultrasound? Let me know how early you may have detected it.

I have been using our fetal doppler since I was 9 weeks pregnant and have been able to find the hb easily enough within 5 minutes of trying. This morning, atfer emptying my bladder, but on an empty stomach, I tried and could not find it. I tried for like 20 minutes, and nothing. I’m worried, because I had a missed miscarriage previously, where we went for an u/s and there wasn’t a hb.
Is this normal? Could it be because I had an empty bladder and stomach?
I am now 12 weeks. Yes, I did hear the babys heartbeat @ 9 weeks, my family doctor found it at my appointment. I can also differentiate the difference between the heartbeat and my own pulse-very different.
Sorry, forgot to add, no cramping or spotting at all.

rate. Anyone else have this problem?
No I bought a nice one for 5 like they use in the doctors office. The baby sounds like it’s doing flips and I can’t catch it at all.

I went to my OB/gyn for my 24 week pregnancy check up! I always get so worried about them not being able to find my little girls heartbeat when they use the fetal Doppler and thats what happen today! I GOT SOO SCARED! All he could pick up was mine. So we went into the ultrasound room and they found it THANK GOD! but he said that she is just laying on my hips and so she is far back, has anyone had this problem before! I just want her to be perfect and i cant help but worry

I’d like to have one for then future when I go see my fiancé in another state. He won’t be able to hear to heart beat or go to any appointments so I thought this would be a great idea. Or even renting.

The second time I looked for it, it was in a different place lol Does that mean he moved? Cause I couldnt find it at all in the place that I had first found it!
I got it from BabyBeat.com …They have great, affordable dopplers you can rent. They work too!

I know the ones you buy at places such as target and walmart are crap and don’t work. The fetal doppler systems are the ones doctors use, so I know I could hear the heartbeat at 13 weeks. I suffered through a threatened miscarriage friday and I need to know if everything is still ok before my doctor’s appt, so renting one online is not an option at this moment because by the time it would come in the mail I would have had my ultrasound.

So does anyone know where I can rent these things in a real store?

what am i hearing on my fetal doppler?

hi, im 22 weeks pregnant and i received my fetal doppler today, iv used it 3 times already but im very confused as to what im hearing.
i have heard my own heartbeat but when it comes to hearing the baby’s h/b it does not stay steady, for e.g for a few seconds it displays 128, 129 and then it goes blank and again displays 160, 162. i even got a display of 240 which stayed steady for about 2-3 seconds.
is this the baby’s heart rate that im hearing or could it be interference from my digestive system or something as im really confused.

thank you in advance

I rented a fetal doppler about 3-4 weeks ago. Even though I am constant prayer and have faith that all will be okay, it provides reassurance when I am able to come home each day and here my baby’s heart beating away.

My next appointment isn’t until September 21st. I will be 19 weeks and 1 day and will find out what I’m having, as well as how the baby is doing. My last appointmentw as on September 2nd and I was 16 weeks and 3 days. The heartbeat was 153.

If I’m hearing a hearbeat at home (I have one without a heartrate display), and can hear the heartbeat, is that a good indication that everything is okay? Would a baby with down syndrome or missing kidneys have a strong heartbeat?

I really try not to think negative but I have moments where I freak out and this is one of them. :)

I bought a fetal doppler but it’s confusing me?

I bought a babymad babysounds fetal doppler on amazon and I thought it was OK for the first day or so but then for some reason started to get confused. It’s so hard to tell the difference between my heartbeat and the baby’s as it has no LCD screen. Today I tried very hard to find the baby’s heartbeat but felt nothing. I had an app with the midwife today who found it almost straight away.

I was told that the heartbeat of a baby is mean’t to sound like a ‘galloping horse’ but myne often sounds like that too!

The midwife suggested I send it back but I was silly and lost some of the packaging and guarentee.

I am 18 weeks pregnant on Thursday.

Has anyone hired a fetal doppler?

hello ladies,

just wondering if anyone has hired a fetal doppler ? where did you hire it from? how much was it per month
and how accurate is it? when was the earliest you can hear the heartbeat from?

Hi there! Sorry, this isn’t really a question, but it’s not exactly spam either so I hope no one decides to be lame and report me because I couldn’t think of any other way to let you all know about this: My sister gave me a fetal doppler last night, she got it for from a medical supply store and it can pick up the heartbeat as early as 12 weeks! I am 24 weeks currently and I was able to find it immediately!

I just wanted to share this because I have seen a TON of questions about fetal dopplers on here, mostly wanting to know if the ones from Wal-Mart work (they don’t), and if there is a way to get one that DOES work that’s not hundreds of dollars. So there ya go, if you know of a medical supply store around you, go check it out! The brand of mine is Baby Sound, it’s portable, battery powered and you need headphones.

I guess I kinda do have a question: How often can I use it? I’m not exactly sure what it does but is it bad for the baby to use it too often?
My sister used to work in a baby store of some kind, but she’s not a medical professional or anything.

Using a Fetal Doppler at 11 weeks. . .?

Hello! So I am now 11 weeks pregnant, i picked up the fetal heartbeart at 9 weeks and 5 days…. It is very fast at 175 which I know is normal in a 10 week fetus. My question was where should I be finding the heartbeat? On my instructions it says it can SOMETIMES be found at 10 weeks earliest, and that to find it you have to have a full bladder and put the doppler at the very bottom of your abdomen and point it down behind your pubic bone… I have been finding the heartbeat slightly on the left side about 2 or 3 inches above the bottom of my abdomen not pointing down if that makes sense?! Sory for long confusing question! So does this mean I am further along or something? Thanks!

Where can I find a semi cheap Fetal Doppler?

Something i can buy not rent… please… Thanks :)
