Im almost 15 weeks, and I just got myself an Angelsounds doppler so I can list to my baby’s heartbeat every day and know its ok. I was just wondering for those of you who have used or are using a doppler, what is the other sounds I can hear, it sounds like a really loud interference, whats goin on in there, is it when the baby moves it makes that noice? Im curious, sometimes its so loud I jump after a couple peaceful minutes of just hearing baby’s heartbeat!

We were using the fetal doppler and listening to my babys heartbeat and we tested mine and it was way slower than my boyfriends.I won’t know if this is common during pregnancy?I was laying down also so maybe that was why.Any insight?

Background:
- I am 12 weeks pregnant, for the first time ever!
- I have had several miscarriages (10w and earlier) and am scared and looking for reassurance from an at home fetal doppler.
- I am obese. Not "thick," obese.

My Question:
Are there any big girls out there who have successfully used a fetal doppler to find the fetal heartbeat, and if so when did you try/find it?
I am talking about an actual doppler (Sonotrax/Hi Bebe/Sonoline are all brand names I’ve looked at). Specifically a 2mhz digital doppler like the ones used in the physician’s office. We have heard the heartbeat in the office, I just need the peace of mind of being able to hear at home.

I am 13 weeks pregnant and today received my doppler. Tried it out, and mine came with an LCD display which was displaying all these numbers like 200, 180, 120, 150 and they were changing every 5 seconds or so, BUT i actually could not hear anything?

I tried everything and still nothing, when i finally did hear a steady heartbeat, i think it was mine! It was only in this one spot and beating the same rate as my own heart.

I am worried now. Why cant i hear the baby? I am 13 weeks along and nothing. Im worried now.

Im 19 weeks and over the past couple days ive used my fetal doppler twice and each time i use it i can loud noises and i can feel her really moving around, and then when i stop i dont feel her moving. Do you think the doppler is causing her some kind of distress, im actually thinking to stop using it because it dont want it to affect her

Not a doppler or fetal stethoscope? Just a reglular stethoscope? If so, how far along in your pregnancy were you, which side did you use, and how were you able to find the babys heart beart? I’m just wondering, because I think it’d be cool if I could find the baby’s heart beat so I could show friends and family from home!

I know this may sound like a repetitive question but, I get myself really worked up sometimes. I do have a doppler and her heart beat is normal. I’ve accepted the fact that she will have her quite days but, between yesterday and today, she’s been awfully quiet. I often hear that if there isnt 10 movements for 2 hours, you should call your dr or go to labor and delivery. Well, I woke up this morning @ 6:50am and I felt about three movements from then until 9:15am. I did check her hb this morning and it was normal 140’s.
So if I go to the dr or labor and delivery about her lack of movement, will they check for something other than HB? Does a normal heart beat mean everything is ok?
Most women around this time say their baby is hyper, but she isnt really hyper.
I had oj this morning and it didnt seem to wake her up. Also, I’ve changed my eating patterns. I eat a lot of little things instead of 3 regular meals because I have no room. Do you think this could affect it?

My husband and I are thinking of renting a fetal doppler to hear the babies heartbeat in between appts, has anyone ever used one? What are your thoughts on it?

this maybe a case of paranoia since we’ve waited long enough to have this baby. My wife is close to her 12 weeks of pregnancy, we had a pre natal visit last Feb.02 (10 weeks and 4 days) and the OB tried to hear the fetal heartbeat using Doppler but unfortunate to locate it. My question is, when do exactly we can hear our little baby’s heart beat to ensure that he/she is okay?

I started feel a little bit of movements(like vibration and butterflies) at 16 weeks but it comes and go,one day I feel a bit and the other nothing at all.I checked the heartbeat everyday as I got a fetal doppler but it worries me that the baby is not developing well as I cannot feel it moving everyday.I do have a lot of cramps but not bleeding.I would appreciate any answers.Thank you

I have a BabyBeat Doppler that tells bpm. I used the doppler last night and a few nights before and found my heart rate was around 80 to 85, but i also kept finding a heart rate between 120-160 it sounded like a fetal heartbeat. I’m a little confused, the doppler stayed between 120-160 at certain times. Has anyone else had this happen.

I just rented a doppler for fetal heart beat. I am ten weeks. I find it hard to tell between the actual heart beat and the fetal blood flow. The monitor calulates a number of 170 BPM, could this be the heart beat number?

I am at 18 weeks and I have not felt the baby move yet and I am a little worried. I even thought of renting a fetal doppler to hear the baby’s heart beat.. :o) I think it would ease my mind… Anyone with any experiences?

im a little annoyed cos i bought the angel sounds fetal heart doppler with heart beat moniter (i.e the monter tells you beats per minute), i found the baby’s heartbeat and it was quite clear, but the moniter did not pick it up and tell me the beats per minute? why is this? you would think it would be able to as that is the sole purpose of the machine? also it keeps picking mine up and tells me one minute my heart rate is 60, the next 130 (and thats not on the baby thats on my heart) i love the doppler for finding the heartbeat, its just annoying me that its not telling me the babys beats per minute…is there a manual way to work it out? cos ive tried and the babys heart beat is so fast it is so difficult to do….

i tried it but its so difficult cos the heartbeat is so fast, also do you count the two beats together as one?

ok i am 24weeks 2day and yesterday my baby kicked only 5times all day today i have felt only 5 kicks as well and no movement. i am not all that worried cos i have used my fetal heart doppler to listen and there is a heart beat but my question is. is reduced fetal movement or kicks a sign of something serious or just a lazy baby? should i still inform my doctor ?. i had a scan done yesterday and he looks ok and weigh 1pound 5oz do you guys think that he will be a big baby?

Yes another question from the paranoid mother here. I am currently 15 weeks and a few days pregnant. I have had ultrasounds at least every two weeks from the time I found out I was preggo in week 3 lol. I have a subcoronic hemorrhage that is the main reason for all the ultrasounds. Anyhow being the fact I have seen the heart rate from 6 weeks I have known everything. My question is when is is normal for the heart rate to slow. Let me explain here. At 6 weeks when they first got the hb it was 121 then it by like week 8 it was in the 180’s. Since then it has been going down about week 10 it was in the 170’s then the next time it was checked like week 12 it was 160 -170. Now over the last three weeks it has been between 150 to 160 if the baby is active and in the 150’s it is not. (I have a fetal heart doppler this is how I know all of this). So now in Week 14 to 15 I have noticed something that worries me and I need some reassurance as the doctors really don’t say much. The last week I have noticed it dropping to the 140’s for a second or so then back to the low to mid 150’s… Is this normal or should I be concerned that something is going wrong. I had an ultrasound yesterday and they said every thing looked "ok" I hate that word cause I always feel they are hiding something lol. I know the baby is healthy cause all the measurements, measure ahead of what I actually am usually 4 to 5 days ahead. So I know he is growing well. I just want some reassurance to the sudden from the 150’s to the 140’s this week is it normal? When do their heart rates stabilize and balance out, it has seemed to be dropping over the last weeks is that normal? I appreciate all your help, and hope you all have a good day.

The machines that let u hear the baby’s heart beat, not quite sure what they are called, fetal doppler, sonacid? I heard lots of names for them. Anyhoo has anyone got one at home, and are they any good?

I wanted to add that I am 13 weeks, still unable to feel baby move. And we tried to get pregnant for 1 year, got pregnant but had a miscarriage then tried for another 8 months before I got pregnant finally. So I have it for piece of mind.

I had a previous blighted ovum and am concerned of a future miscarriage. I saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks 3 days and bought a home doppler which I found the heartbeat this morning and it was at 116 bpm. I’m nervous this is slow PLEASE HELP!

I asked at a chemist today but the bloke looked at me like I was stupid and seemed to think I was talking about a baby monitor. Tried to explain that this device was to listen to the baby’s heart BEFORE it’s born. LOL

I’m 20 weeks pregnant, and feel the baby kicking, I want one more for my partner so he can hear the heartbeat. He hasn’t been able to come to the ultrasounds due to work (new job).

I first heard my baby’s heartbeat at 11 weeks with a rented fetal doppler. I’m currently at 12 and a half weeks, and the heartbeat still sounds like a swish swish swish, not like a galloping horse like most people say. I am fairly sure that it’s the baby’s heartbeat because it’s very fast 156+ every time I heard it, but I started doubting because it doesn’t sound like a galloping horse. Would it sound different once the baby’s older, like at five months or so? Please advise, thank you.
