Ok so I am 6w6d pregnant and I went to the dr today for something other than ob. i have not been to the ob yet but the dr today decided to try to find the heart beat for me. i have alot of female problems and my uterus is attached to my abdominal wall. it took her a little while but she found the heart beat. it measured at 125 bpm and mine was 90 bpm. I called the ob to set up my appt and they said that i was prolly alot further along. my hubby came home from iraq in jan, i had a normal period right before he came home and then normal period on feb 9th then found out i was preggo on march 14th. i am confused. is it because i am further along or because my uterus is attached so close up there?? and is that a good rate for 7 weeks? has anyone else got hb on doppler that early? i am scared, we been ttc for 5 years! thanks in advance
thanks kim, yeah i forgot to mention, i aint too thin, im a little overweight.

hello everyone…i thought i would share something great and encouraging on here!!! i am almost 4 months pregnant…and when i was at my last appointment and all they did is use a doppler to check the fetal heart rate i thought well….i would like to have that asurance at home…so i went on ebay and bought a hand held at home fetal doppler…they range from about 115-120…i know it sounds like alot but the ability to hear your little baby when ever you want to is well worth it…There are days i am sure every mother to be has had when you wonder if things are ok or if the baby is still there…i love hearing the little life and would recommend it to anyone…a side note to anyone else to gets one the first time i tried to use it…it was hard to find the baby and the heart rate and i was getting my own..but when i found it is was easy!!! the baby is much lower that i thought!!

I am 16 weeks pregnant. 2 weeks ago, I had a noticable bump and my dresses didn’t fit and that we have to buy maternity clothes. For the last 3 days, my bump is gone and I look as if I am not pregnant. I can feel the baby move and since I have a fetal doppler at home, I listen to my baby heartbeat almost everyday which is around 155 BPM. Has anyone had this? Pregnancy bump suddenly vanishing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is our first baby.

He’s there and he’s moving. I have a fetal doppler and I listened to his heartbeat, it was in the 150’s. So he seems ok. He is just not moving as much as the day before yesterday. His kicks are also softer. .. is this normal?
Im 26 weeks pregnant

I borrowed a fetal doppler from my doctor and I’ve been using it for the past few days. However, just this evening I heard extra heart beats, almost like a murmur. I am 14-1/2 weeks. Can anybody advise on this? Is it normal for fetuses to have murmurs?

I’m 22 weeks pregnant and my baby hates my tummy being touched. Earlier on it used to swim away from the doppler, but now he/she kicks at it. I was in the hospital a few weeks ago hooked up to fetal monitors and it spent the whole time kicking them. And if I want to feel my baby kick all I usually need to do is but a little pressure on my tummy and its kicks me back…lol. Just wondering if anyone else had a baby like this too.

I have a question… how come the doc calculates my babies heart rate at like 150 beats per minute but when i use my home fetal heart listener i only get like 80 something beats per minute.. am i doing something wrong? or is his heart rate down? or is it just the home doppler isnt that accurate? Maybe the doc calculates different? im confused.

I am having strong braxton hicks contractions although it’s been almost 2 hours since sex.
I am bleeding but it is pink.
I can’t go to hospital as my son is in bed. Can this be normal?
I have a fetal heart doppler and can feel my baby kicking so surely it’s not anything to worry about?

We got our own fetal doppler and today I was listening to the heartbeat and noticed that I can hear it in 2 different places. The doppler we purchased isn’t as good as the doctors so you need to search for a little while to find it and basically be RIGHT on top of the baby. So the fact that I found it twice in 2 different spots is kinda crazy. I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks and the tech moved ALL over and there was only 1 in there. So I am just curious as to why I am hearing it in 2 completely different locations of my belly. I heard you can heart a heart beat in the placenta but wouldn’t that be mine? Both heartbeats were in the 150’s so it definitely wasn’t mine lol.

im 24 weeks pregnant, and my little girls movements were really strong, but the past couple of days they havent been as strong. i can still feel her moving, and i keep checking heartbeat with my fetal doppler at home and her heartbeat is as usual, between 137-148. do you think they dont feel as strong because she has changed position? thank you to all that reply. x

I’m 21 weeks and I just noticed baby moving a bit more often. However yesterday I felt him practically all day, yet today I maybe felt 2 kicks and that’s all. Like total silence all day. I have a fetal doppler and his heart is nice and strong, but why the moving one day and not the next?
Your experiences is greatly appreciated

Despite normal umbilical artery and fetal MCA doppler study & normal liquor amount, we are facing:
1. A difference of 4 weeks in FL dimensions (BPD 38wk while FL is 33wk and 6 days!!) which was a mere difference of 2 weeks @ BPD 23wk.
2. A posterior and Grade III placenta with an increase in calcification but not yet alarming.

According to this heartrate chart, the rate will decrease from 155-195 bpm at 9 weeks to 120-160 bpm by 12 weeks. I’m wondering if this is always true. What is/was your baby’s heartrate between this time? Thanks!

I am 12 weeks pregnant and you can’t tell I’m pregnant at all!! I went to the E.R. the other night because my OB office wouldn’t accept me as a patient until I received my physical medical card even though I had my temporary one, which makes no difference.
The ER Doc. did an exam on me and could not feel my uterus on top of my belly and even inside of me. He said it was so soft. He questioned me over and over again to make sure I have had a positive pregnancy test. I have had 3 positive tests. He did a HCG level blood test and that came out low so the next step was to do an ultrasound because with my uterus still being so small he said there was no point in the heart doppler. He thought I have already miscarried or was going to.
So I went for the ultrasound this morning and the results were:
*My Amniotic Fluid is decreased
*The Fetal Heart rate was 144 bpm
*BUT NO MOVEMENT AT ALL!!!
I am going to my OB on Monday to talk to the doctor because he wasn’t in today, but before I can go in and tell him what is actually going on I want to hear feedback from other people because I don’t know what this could mean. A heartbeat, but no fetal movement. ?!?!? Please someone tell me SOMETHING!
Thanks.
I def. am 12 weeks. It showed it on the ultrasound and I did drink a 16 oz. bottle of OJ before I went in. They told me to. But I have 2 other beautiful babies and I have to be strong for them. Thank you all for your answers.

I have measured my babies heart beat at between 85-90 beats per minute which I know is low at this stage, and low heartbeat is a very high indicator of imminent miscarriage, I have expressed my concerns to my doctor who frustratingly says they dont measure fetal heartbeats on the NHS that early and I must be hearing my own heartbeat.. both rythyms sound very different to me, and in very different locations,(babies heartbeat above pelvic bone) and my doppler is a good quality one, Im going for a private scan on thursday as I am so worried..maybe Im going nuts, maybe it is my own heartbeat? sounds unlikley to me, hope someone can throw light on this. Thanks

He said he could "hear" that the placenta was anterior and that this might be why we couldn’t find the heart beat of the baby. However, he then ordered an ultrasound. I am feeling very negative and afraid to face tomorrow. Have any of you had fetal heart tones not heard this far into pregnancy? - This was my first appointment, so our first attempt to hear anything. With my previous babies, we could always get heart tones via doppler by 10-12 weeks.

I am currently 18 weeks pregnant. This is my second pregnancy. I am a plus size model. LOL But seriously I have a little cushion. I am concerned about having little to no fetal movement. I felt the baby flutter a small amount around 16 weeks. But I have not felt many flutters in week 17 and 18. Is there something wrong with my baby? I have rented a doppler and I have a strong heart beat, but he or she just won’t move. Or is it just too early. Y did I feel flutters earlier and not now. Please help! I thought that when it is your second pregnancy you should feel movement earlier.

I called the dr’s office and the nurse said that cramps are normal during this time and to only go into the emergency room if it comes along with bleeding which I’m not. She also said that since I heard the heart beat on my rented fetal doppler that the baby seems good and not in distress. These cramps just really hurt, even when I sneeze sometimes. Is this normal? Also when I press on the left side where I feel cramping the most, it hurts.
