I am 17 weeks today. I started feeling my baby move when I was about 14 weeks. Between weeks 15-16 I felt the baby move all the time. Yesterday I barley felt it at all. And so far today still nothing….
Should I be worried?
I have a fetal doppler at home and I heard the beat last night. The weird thing is it used to sound like a horse galloping, but now all I hear is like a WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP. The beat is about 160 per minute.
Should I call my doctor or is this normal???
Thanks:)

My mind feels so messed up right now. My husband and I tried for a few months to get pregnant and found out even before my missed period that I was pregnant. We were so excited. This whole pregnancy I have been so excited to have a baby and I still am super excited. I just thought that it would start feeling real at some point. We have her room done, I had my baby shower, my hospital bag and her baby bag are all packed, everything is washed/cleaned/folded….everything is set up and ready to go. I even had to go to the hospital last weekend for them to stop my contractions. Yet, I still do not feel like there is going to be a baby here. It’s worrying me like something is going to go wrong. I don’t think I could handle losing her, because I love her so much already and just can’t wait for her to get here. I just seriously cannot picture a baby here in my life all the time. It’s such a weird feeling. I am using my fetal doppler like a few times a day because I am so worried since I think I should feel like a mom and at least have some sort of idea of her being here. This is our first baby, I just feel like I am going crazy. Is this normal?

I was in a minor car accident last night. My sister hit a car in front of us at about 5 mph. It left a dent on the other womans car to get the idea of how hard the hit was. Now my question is, at 11 weeks pregnant, could that accident have harmed my baby? I used my fetal doppler this morning and heard the heartbeat and I’m not having cramps or bleeding. I called my doctor and she told me not to go in. She said at 11 weeks, it’s too early to do anything anyway, but that the baby is very protected in the stomach at this stage. Does this sound right? Isn’t there a chance for placental abruption?
Thank you guys…Just the few answers I got have put my mind at ease. I was fine this morning after hearing the heartbeat, but then I read stuff on the internet and it get me all worried.

So i have felt the flutters and i am very happy, but i was wondering when did everyone else start to feel other things like Kicks and things like that. I have a 5 year old son so it has been a minute and the only thing i can remember is i was about 17 weeks before i felt anything with him.
Also how far along was everyone when they found out what they were having. I have an appointment on the 21 and ill be 16 weeks and 4 days and i can not wait.. I really hope its a baby girl the heart rate has been high (home fetal Doppler) but i know that is just a myth…
Just being curious…

Im really nervous because I know it’s getting cramped in there but he isn’t moving as much at all. Just in the morning..a couple of times in the afternoon and a little at night..which is good, but he usually moves ALOT more. Sometimes I won’t feel a kick for like 2 hours. Im worried, should I go to L&D? I have an appointment tomorrow to see my midwife…Should I wait?
ALSO : I have a fetal doppler…his heartbeat is on point! Does this mean he’s ok??

I have been extra worried lately. I am 15w3d. The last heartbeat appt was at 12 weeks and it was fine. Yet I am still worried.
I tried ordering a fetal doppler today, the place never called me back. It is the weekend now and my clinic is closed for the weekend so I can’t go in.
I am just so sad right now.
I had a miscarriage before this pregnancy early on.
I keep thinking my baby might be dead. I read about missed miscarriages (where you miscarry but you don’t bleed or cramp, and you don’t know about it until your doctor tells you) so I keep thinking this has happened/will happen.

Anyone know where I could find a really cheap baby doppler? I’m even willing to find one of those sites where you can trade something to get it.

I purchased a 3.0 MHz Fetal Doppler Heart Monitor that is supposed to be the same caliber that the doctor has. It’s really neat!
I can pick up my own heart beat with a rate of about 80 bpm when I put it over my own heart.
When I put it near my uterus I can move it around until I find a fainter Woosh-Woosh-Woosh, which I think is my baby’s heartbeat! The rate is about 120 bpm, which I think is lower than it should be. Also, I can pick it up in two places about 4 inches apart.
I know I’m not having twins because I just had an ultrasound last week and the doctor found just one healthy 10 week old baby.
Am I picking up an echo or my own pulse? If it’s my pulse I’m picking up then wouldn’t it be at the same rate to 80 bpm?
I’ve moved that probe all around my stomach and heart and in my uterus was the only place I picked up that Woosh-Woosh-Woosh at 120 bpm.
Does anyone have any experience with these things?

Okay, so I am a little over 31 weeks pregnant. First off just so you are clear, I am asking for advice from personal experiences, because I have spoken to the doctors about this, before you say to go to a doctor. This is my first baby, and I hardly feel movement. Sometimes I do, but its not strong, actually its very light and I can go days without feeling movement. I go to all of my appointments and always mention this and they say everything is fine. Normal heart rate and all and I always measure properly. I had my mid pregnancy sonogram at 20 weeks and have also had a couple sonograms after, I actually just had one at 29 weeks, a couple weeks ago. Everytime they say the baby is measuring great and the baby is moving all over the sonogram. I am so paranoid that I go to the labor and delivery room almost every week to check and the same thing every time happens, they say I am fine.(I was actually just there yesterday again). They always do a bedside sonogram and put me on the monitor but she is always normal. (its a little embarrassing because they know me so well by now for coming in and there is NEVER a problem) Has anyone else had this issue where they don’t feel their baby move? the doctors don’t know exactly why I don’t feel her but they always try to convince me that she is perfectly fine. I believe them, but then around 3 days later I’ll worry again until I see a doctor. I do have a fetal doppler I rented and always hear the heartbeat but still get nervous. Any advice? Thanks and sorry for this long post =]
No, you are not rude, I have heard that also. But I was around 135 lbs when I got pregnant, and am now about 170 (yes, I am always hungry lol) but I am not sure if this effects the movement or not.

I have a fetal doppler and I use it once in a while to hear my baby’s heart…I noticed that everytime I check her heart rate, I found it in around the same location (right side on my lower abdomen). I wonder if it is normal for the baby to remain in the same spot for weeks…I feel the kicking everywhere, but her heart is always very low on my abdomen…It is about 138 beats per minute….Any thoughts? I have an appointment soon, but I can’t wait to hear opinions…

My doctor has me down March 23 to check the anatomy of the baby!! That’s SOOO far away! Is there any way I could possibly talk them into letting me know sooner??
Also, I have been very paranoid these past 14 weeks of having a miscarriage. I think to put my mind at ease, I’m going to buy or rent a fetal doppler. To me that’s money WELL spent. Does anyone know where I could get one? I know Ebay and other online places are a good start but I was wondering if any local stores sell them, like Target, Wal-Mart, Meijer??

I am 13 weeks pregnant with a high risk pregnancy and i had 2 miscarriages when i was 15 and i had a premature birth at 16 which i had a c-section with at 34 weeks but i started contracting and dilating at 28 weeks my baby was 8 pounds though she was alright. Now that i’m 13 weeks pregnant a few weeks ago i was spotting and i do have sharp stabbing pains on my sides and abdomen now but the baby is fine on the ultra sound although we still haven’t been able to hear the heartbeat on the fetal doppler yet. (with my first baby i heard it at 9 weeks) i have leg cramps practically all day and i can’t empty my bladder completely so i have to be peeing all day so i can completely empty my bladder and i have recurrent bladder infections and antibiotics are not working anymore they tried using a catheter but it was extremely painful and i bled so now i don’t know what to do do you think i could have a tipped uterus?
Sorry but no i don’t have no STD i have been with the same boy for 4 years already and weve both been checked millions of times.
also the lady inserting a catheter was like a assistant or something cuz she kept on poking me with the catheter and saying oops sorry and laughing.
The second time with real nurses it hurted alot but no bleeding they said my bladder might be swollen and irritated.

Im 19 weeks pregnant and have been suffering with diarrhea for 8 days now. I have no fever or sickness, and i dont have any abdominal pain. I have a fetal doppler and my baby’s heartbeat is fine. Up until last week i was suffering with constipation. Is it normal to suffer with diarrhea when pregnant? Thank you in advance for your answers.
There has been one full day in the past 8 days that i didn’t have diarrhea, so i suppose there has been a break in them 8 days. And i feel fine in myself.

Hello ladies,
I’m 21w 3d pregnant and so far my pregnancy has been fine. We found out we’re having a girl and she’s healthy. Today though I had a little scare. I went to the restroom and when I wiped (TMI) I noticed a very small brownish colored spot on the toilet paper. It looked like old blood. This only happened this one time and when I got home I grabbed my fetal doppler to listen to her heartbeat. I found it right away and it was 140-145 bpm. I overly cautious because in December 2008 I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. My question is, is this spotting normal at 21 weeks or should I be worried? I haven ‘t had any cramps and everything has been fine. Thanks

I’m currently 15wks1dy pregnant. I have a fetal doppler. I listen to my little one every few days. When he/she is awake, I’ll find his/her heartbeat on one side. A couple seconds later, the heartbeat is in a completely different position! I’m looking at 15wk ultrasounds on youtube & I’ve noticed how small the uterus is at the time. Just barely fitting around them. Yet, how is the baby able to move about so freely as mine is?
THANKS!

So I’m 15 weeks pregnant and lately, I’ve been feeling a small hard bump just slightly above my pubic bone to the right a bit. The bump comes and goes but when it’s there it feeling like something nudging in my uterus. It’s not painful but it’s not the "fluttery" kicks I’ve read other people say they have when they can feel their baby. I have a fetal doppler at home and when I place it directly on the bulge I clearly get a strong baby heartbeat.
So it must be the baby then, right? But how come it bulges out like that and not in the middle of my uterus? Does this have anything with the way the baby has implanted itself in my uterus? Just wondering if anyone has experienc the same thing.

This is my 2nd pregnancy , and i am feeling hardly any movement, im 21 weeks. I have been feeling movement since about 16 weeks , but its still remained the same, maybe a few flutters a day. I know she is not a lazy baby as she can never be detected on the fetal doppler due to her moving so much. But with my 1st pregnancy by this stage the kicks were very noticible and happening alot more often then this.
Just wondering if anyone else had this happen in the 2nd pregnancy? also should i be worried maybe about a cord around the neck or arm or soemtthing? Would this be restricting movement?

Hi, I’m in my 28th week of pregnancy and was wondering if this is "of the norm" as far as third trimester goes…Today while at work I started having some slight round ligament pains…Which I’ve started to get again for the past couple of weeks. This time though, they were accompanied by pains in my legs and what felt like a little weakness in my legs. Also, I had a little lower back pain, but it all subsided and in the meantime i got out my fetal doppler to check baby’s heart rate which was good….Is this normal…I have a doctors appt tomorrow so I;m not super worried…but just wanted some advice in the meantime.

Okay, since last night i’ve hardly felt my baby move. Her movements aren’t totally gone, but not at all like her normal ones. She might move for a second then not at all for hours and that’s not her typical movement pattern. I have a fetal doppler though and her heart rate has been from the 140’s-150’s. I’m just not sure if I should go to the hospital. I’m kinda worried that I’m going to go and shes gonna start getting active. I’m a little more worried about it though because I’ve started to get signs of preeclampsia and I don’t feel weird, but her not moving as much kinda scares me. I’m also 33 weeks. Should I go to the hospital or wait it out?
my doc’s office is closed on the weekends, I already tried to call.

i’m 28 weeks 4 days and i was wondering if the baby changing from a head down position to a breech position could affect the movements i feel? When i had my last sonogram 3 weeks ago, he was in a head down position. I had been feeling a lot of strong kicks and/or punches before last week. this week i still feel him move, but i mostly feel him changing positions or stretching and a few punches/kicks. i don’t feel him move as much on the upper part of my belly like i did before. i just checked his heartbeat with the fetal doppler and i found it high on my stomach so i’m guessing he is head up considering where his heart beat was.
does the baby changing into a breech position change the movements i feel? could he already be running out of room to kick as much as he did before? i’m short so i know there is probably less room but i don’t know if this has anything to do with him movements changing more into rolling movements. his heartbeat was good in the 150s which is what is normally is.
i go to the doc on monday and i’ll ask him too but i’m just curious. thanks.

I am 11 weeks pregnant with my first child, and lately I have been having some bad cramping, but it does go away after a while so I’m not too worried. I went and heard the heart beat on the 6th, it was at 170 bpm. Which is good. I bought my own Fetal Doppler so that I could hear it at home, but I cant seem to find it that well, and when I find a heartbeat, it sounds slow and not like the one I heard at the DR. Today I tried again and I couldn’t find one at all. I’m scared that the heartbeat has stopped. What should I do? I’m worried about the baby, I don’t know what to do, or if I should worry, but I don’t know what to believe about miscarriages. I hear it can be cramps and bleeding, cramps and no bleeding till later, and nothing at all till later, so I don’t know what to think or do. Please help me. I’m scared to lose it.

I am 11 weeks today and have been using a HI bebe doppler to listen to my baby’s heartbeat since Thursday. It was consistent and muffled yet relatively slow(around 75 bpm) Well, today while listening to it I stumbled upon a different sound that was more like a gallop and was around 165 bpm. At this point I’m realizing that this gallop was the actual heartbeat. My question is: what was I hearing before?

I’m 27wks. For the past few days, I’ve noticed a drastic decrease in fetal movement. I only feel her maybe once a day now & it’s when she’s breach - I feel her feet kicking really low. Before this, she was VERY active. I mean VERY active. So I’m beginning to become a bit concerned.
The only thing that keeps my mind at ease is that I have a fetal doppler (that I ordered when I was 13wks & received at 14wks). So I know she’s ok bc her heartrate stays around 140bpm, but she hasn’t been moving much.
Should I call my doc first thing in the morning or just wait until my appt in 8 days (4/20/09)?
THANKS!

I would know if I have had a regular miscarriage, as I’d be bleeding and cramping and all that. but what scares me is the missed miscarriages. I heard that preg symptoms should usually decrease in that situation but not always, and a woman could still experience soar breasts and nausea even after the fact. so I’m wondering, for those who have experienced them, did you feel ANYTHING at all, or were you completely shocked at the ultrasound? I know one woman said she just "didn’t feel pregnant" anymore. I’m wondering if that was the case with other woman, too
basically, this is my first baby and I’m, of course, just being paranoid since I’m 2 months but still have not gone in to hear the heartbeat. I’m going to set up an appointment this week but if it’s too far ahead I’m considering just ordering a fetal doppler and seeing if I can hear the heartbeat myself, just to calm my fears. How soon can a doppler pick up the heartbeat? because I heard it takes a little longer to pick it up than an ultrasound would

I am 16 weeks along, and had to go into the doctor’s office because I was spotting (again). The dr used a fetal doppler and heard the heartbeat in two locations. The heartbeats were at different rates (not far apart..one was 143, the other 152) He also heard an echoing of beats when he was on one of them. He said there is a small chance it could be twins, but wants to do an ultrasound to see.I have had two ultrasounds already, and they only showed one baby. Is it possible to be 16 weeks along & not know you are having twins?
How far along were you when you find out you were having twins? How did you find out (ultrasound, doppler, female intuition)?
Thank you
