Fetal heart monitor / doppler - anyone used one?

I’m 19+ weeks pregnant and thankfully all seems to be going well so far. I bought an Angelsounds doppler a few weeks ago and first picked up the heartbeat about 2-3 weeks ago. I’m feeling a bit of movement every day now so I’m not worried, but it’s just strange that sometimes I can pick up the heartbeat immediately, sometimes it takes a while, and other times I get nothing at all. Why is this? I’m guessing it’s probably baby’s position but am just wondering what other peoples experiences are of using dopplers? Thanks

My wife is pregnant, and is 25 weeks now. We have a doppler, and she had the same problem. It is all down to the Baby’s Position, its nothing to worry about.
hi, This is my second pregnancy and i used one with this pregnancy.They are the most wonderful things i have ever used and so reassuring.With my first baby boy(because he never moved) i was at the hospital 2 times a week worrying there was something wrong but he was just being lazy lol.My doppler i use now, has saved me so much time and the reason why you only pick up the heartbeat sometimes is because of the baby’s position.Just bare with it and it wont let you down.Good luck and congrats.
The baby is moving around and unless you are a midwife you can’t be expected to be picking up the heart beat first go every time. I remember how eager I was to hear the heart beat at all of my appointments. Trust that your baby is a survivor and is doing wonderfully and enjoy!!
