Fetal Heart Doppler… worth buying?

I am looking into buying a fetal heart doppler/monitor and am just wondering if anyone has one or used one. Are they any good?
I have looked at a few on the net. There is a wide range of them and are varied in price. So would anyone recommend a make or suggest where I can get one cheaply?
Any information/advice would be great!

We borrowed one from a work friend of my husband’s when I was pregnant with Sylvie and it never worked for us. We could only ever hear my heartbeat and we haven’t bothered with this pregnancy. I think they are a waste of money. A friend of mine bought one when she was pregnant and every time she tried it she couldn’t hear anything and panicked that her baby had died or there was something wrong with it. Her doctor told her to stop using it because it was making her worry and putting stress on the baby.
I had the Summer Heart to Heart Fetal monitor and never heard a thing during my whole pregnancy
Yes definitely!
I got one when i was 13 weeks
I got cheap one from ebay for like £9 (uk)
it’s called Angel sounds
and it’s ace!!
It took me a while to use because i didn’t realize i had to put water on my stomach :L so i was like what a load of crap. But at 14 weeks i tried it again and suddenly it was amazing
I use it everyday nearly
Good luck xxx
To me, yes it was worth buying.
We spent 100 dollars on ours, seems pricey but it has lasted us through one pregnancy, and about to go the yards with this pregnancy too.
I got it off ebay, and it was similar to this.

For me it was worth the money just for peace of mind- having said that, I did have a few heart attacks when I could not find my babies heart beat a few times.
But…the good times far outweigh the scary ones!
I think it’s a waste of money. I also hear that it’s not good for the baby to do it a lot. I was soo tempted to buy one in the beginning of my pregnancy cause I was paranoid about EVERYTHING!! But it got to a point where I realized I was worrying about nothing and just needed to relax
YES definately worth buying one!! i got the angel sounds doppler from amazon for about £20 when i was 10 weeks pregnant. took a few attempts to find the heartbeat due to me listening to my own heartbeat for a few days thinking it was my babys!lol after a few trys i found the heartbeat (like galloping horses) it was absolutely amazing! i am such a worrier and this completely puts my mind at rest. this doesnt just pick up the heartbeat but you can hear the baby kicking and moving around also which is really nice as i have only felt flutters up to now.
I borrowed an ‘angelsounds’ doppler from my friend at 14 weeks and it helped to ease my worries about the baby - i used it once a week and the sound of the baby is amazing! I would recommend it to anyone who is worried about their baby. I would suggest you speak to your midwife 1st and ask her to show you which sound means what as there are different sounds in there that can be confusing.
Good luck xxx
