Hi, anyone bought a fetal doppler to hear their babies heartbeat? If so which one did you buy and where from?

I bought a new one from an eBay seller for about £50 and it was fantastic (think the brand was Bestman or something). I had a nightmare pregnancy with regular bleeding and was able to use the doppler to check the heartbeat when I did bleed and wasn’t able to get hold of my midwife for whatever reason. Your baby’s hearbeat will be much faster than yours (around 120-160 beats per minute) so you should be able to differentiate between them.
I can really recommend getting one if you’re not the type of person who panics. I did find it difficult to find the heartbeat a few times and this was really stressful, but overall, in my situation I was really pleased I had it.
dont bother hun,you might end up picking up your own heart beat up like i did when in fact my baby had died at 36 weeks.go to the hospital if you are worried at any time
Hi
Unless you spend hundreds its not worth it as if your thinking of buying a cheap one, like one from boots etc its unlikely you’ll hear the heartbeat and then it makes you panic thinking something is wrong.
It makes you worry when theres no need! Women worry enough during pregnancy!!lol!
I bought one from Wal-Mart. Just a cheapie, and it was a piece. So if you get one, get a good one. I wasn’t picking anything up with it. And I put it up to my own heartbeat and could barely even hear it.
And I’m assuming you’re just wanting it for fun, not because you’re worried something is wrong. If you’re concerned, call the doc! If you’re just super excited and want to connect as MUCH as possible..save up and get a good one.
Or I even think you can rent one. Like super good ones. Google that, I’m pretty sure that would be your best bet.
I rented one from the internet for $22 a month for a few months. The ones you rent are way better than the ones in the store, cause they are just like the ones your doctor uses. I rented it starting at about 11 weeks and was able to pick up my son’s heartbeat. Then when i started to feel his little movements on a regular basis, I sent it back. The ones in the store that cost anywhere from $20-$50 aren’t worth the money IMO as you have to be much farther along, and sometimes don’t even work later in the pregnancy.
Edit*
I forgot to add the website where I rented mine. I ordered it on a Wed. afternoon and received it by Friday, with regular shipping.

From experience the dopplers you can buy at the maternity stores do not work. We paid $60 for the one we got and other then the cds that came with it. It was a big waste of money.. Unless you can afford one that the doctors use then I suggest not buying one.. Congratulations and Best of Luck….
I have the BEBE sounds and Summer brand. I bought both from target. I don’t think it works!
I got a cheap one from a second hand store that was a baby monitor and fetal listener all in one. It is not the best thing in the world, but it does work… It was worth the money, I would just get a second hand one. I am still using it, and this is my second child…. it’s fisher price brand… it’s at least 3 years old…. You might be able to find one on ebay for cheap….Just don’t worry if you can’t find the heartbeat, it was about 18 weeks before we could hear ours…
Hi, i had one with my last 2 pregnancies but it was one of the £30 ones you get in Argos, with the headphones and i have to say it was rubbish! it didnt work till 21 weeks and even then it was really hard to pick anything up! This time i bought a proper doppler from ebey.It was £50 and called babywatcher. Its fantastic! It said it worked from 10 weeks but i found my babys HB from 9+5 weeks and i listen to it every morning now. I have found it to be really good for peace of mind but you have to be careful as if your a worrier it might not be a good idea as at such an early stage it can be hard to find the HB every time and it might make you panic. So as long as you keep this in mind i would recommend them. Its nice to share it with the rest of the family. My daughter loves trying to find the HB (she usually picks mine up instead but i dont have the heart to tell her that thats not the baby). Anyway. people have different opinions but fro my experience it has been great and i wouldnt be without it.Good luck x
I bought one from Toys r us it was a bebe one for about 30 dollars. I had no problem with it. It worked great.
I rented a fetal doppler from http://www.babybeats.com for my 1st and 2nd pregnancies (found my 1st heartbeat at 11 weeks before my OB, and 2nd at 13 weeks).. but the time with my 3rd I finally felt good that everything was going well. It is so great to ease your mind for any reason at all. I could always find the heartbeat for my OB after they couldn’t too, because I knew my babies so well! I loved loved having this!
babybeats.com also were great to work with! we actually broke a piece off of our equipment and they told us it happens all the time and didn’t hold us responsible…
You can also purchase them from here.
I purchased one off ebay but was battery only so I quickly got rid of that as it sometimes takes a while to pick up the heartbeat in the early weeks (11 wks ish) and drains the battery fast. So if buying one you must get a rechargeable one. The next one I got was a BF-500B model off ebay and paid £105 for it. Its best to get one with LCD display so you can see the babies heartbeat rather than just hearing it. Its very easy to tell the difference from your own and baby heartbeat. Try looking at this site for the best dopplers about http://www.hi-baby.co.uk/acatalog/Dopplers.html Well worth every penny for peace of mind
I rented one. I got it from http://www.babybeat.com I’ve not got it in the mail yet but it has a heart rate display on it (so you can tell how many beats per minute your babies heart rate is, and since the babies heart rate is faster than yours you will be able to tell it’s not your heartbeat), a built in recorder, and noise reduction caused by the doppler going over your skin. You can either rent them by the month or you can rent it until it is purchased.
Update: I got it in the mail yesterday-I love it! It’s so easy to the difference in sound between your babies and your heart beat. And it’s so neat to be able to sit and listen to it as long as you want instead of having the doctor stop after a minute.
yes i bought one form ebay.. called angel sounds.. it the only one that says u can hear from 12 weeks and i heard my baby fine!
u can tell the difference between ur heartbeat and ur babies very very easily! also u will learn the best places to hear ur baby..
i found mine invaluable as i had suffered a mc and i worried all the time! so it always put my mind at ease..
