If you got one from a baby store, the ones that are 20 bucks or so, you will have a hard time hearing the heart beat on that thing. It takes some practice.
Usually you need to be further along to hear the heart beat when using a "non professional" doppler
Im 7 weeks and have no problem finding it….Hmmm Is it a good doppler or just one you can find at target or something? Are you using the gel? Are you low enough below your belly button? It’s probablly the machine.
Those retail dopplers don’t work well until pretty late in the pregnancy. Even at a hospital with a fetal monitor it can be tricky to find at 19 weeks.
And every woman has different results depending on her body type, the shape of the uterus, the position of the placenta, the position of the baby. For those reasons, some people have better luck than others.
Cheap store bought dopplers are tricky and have to be snug and in the right place, below your navel, it is tricky period at 19 weeks, soon it should be easier and you can hear kicks and hiccus, dont worry yourself and cause unessessary (sp?) stress to you and the baby, I’m sure your next appointment wil clear things up =]
its probably just difficult to find don’t even everything should be fine
I’m sure that it is just the doppler. I bought a bebe heart monitor and it SUCKED! If you still have a receipt, bring it back. I had some bleeding w/ this pregnancy so it was really important to me to find the baby’s heartbeat. I wound up renting a doppler from http://WWW.BELLYBEATS.COM and it worked great from 13 weeks up untill I could feel my little guy moving around all of the time and sent it back. It saved my sanity and was worth the twenty bucks a month!
Very Best Wishes!
