You can rent really good ones like the ones that are used on drs offices.

I rented mine from Baby Beats. It was awesome! I could listen to my baby everyday. It works as early as 12 weeks or so. I rented the one with the recorder on it and was able to record my daughter and share it with my family, plus I have them on my computer because we were able to stranfer them.

Ebay is excellent - they are new, come with gel, are reasonably priced and come with battery.

If you have any baby magazines they are advertised in the very back. Some of them can detect earlier than 25-30 weeks, but they are very expensive.

I rented one (you can rent to own, or even buy one) from BABYBEAT.COM.

I LOVE IT. If you look at my myspace, you’ll see I was able to even take my babies heartbeats and upload them to share.

I ordered it from Babybeat back in December during a snowstorm on a Friday. All the airports were closed in Colorado where it was coming from and somehow I STILL got it on Tuesday. Lol… FAST shipping (And I live in OHIO!)
