Listen to your baby heartbeat from 8 weeks
Has anyone used a fetal doppler and at what week did you first hear the heart beating? I have an Angel Sounds and am 11 weeks and I can’t hear anything

My midwife detected a heartbeat on a fetal monitor at 9 weeks. I think you can hear it as early as 5 (not very popular time) and should be able to hear it at 12 weeks. Drink a few glasses of water before you test it again. It works the same way an ultrasound does, so the more full you are, the easier the waves can travel. You can ask your care provider to show you how to use one (make sure you have the goo!). You should hear a long "WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH" for you heart beat, gurggles and blips for your intestines and gas, and a smaller and faster "DOOSH DOOSH DOOSH" at about 135/min which is your baby’s heart beat. At 11 weeks you should more than likely hear it, if you wait long enough and are patient in waiting. Try different locations, and you can press gently into your tummy. If you don’t hear anything, don’t be alarmed. At 15 weeks, my midwife couldn’t hear my baby’s heartbeat on one and I went for an emergency ultrasound because I was terrified for the worst. The baby was just moving around too much, but they evenutally determined that everything was fine. I’m going to go out and buy one of these today!
Sometimes they say you can’t hear anything until your further along!!
normally its around 12 weeks or so I was 13 weeks and the doctor could not hear so I was sent for an ultrasound and we heard there.
i couldn’t hear my baby’s heart beat, and this was at the dr. office, with their dopplar until i was about 15 weeks. i was told that about the middle to end of your 2nd trimester is the best time to use one of those at home dopplars. also right now your lil one is only about 1 1/2 inches long and is about the size of a fig, so there is a lot of room for it to move around thus making it harder to find! they love hiding…LOL. good luck!
i heard mine after a month..
My doctor attempted to hear my baby’s heartbeat at I believe…week 11? And she wasn’t able to find it, I had to have a ultrasound to make sure he was still there! He was and she said that he was just sitting really low and that’s why we couldn’t hear his heart beating. By the next appointment (approx. 15 weeks?) we were able to hear him :]
the ones that you buy at the store aren’t as sensitive, i bought one from baby depot and i am 15 weeks and still can’t hear anything. it says on the box you have to be 20 weeks but i’m still going to listen every week. the ones at the doctor’s office which are medical grade can be used at 10 weeks or so.
