Fetal Doppler reading @ 11 weeks
I rented a fetal doppler with a digital BPM readout. I jsut tried it, and the readout would go from 117 to 155 [and a range between] depending on how I moved the wand. Is that normal? Is it just because you have to have it in just the right spot? Should I be nervous at all? Do you ever just get one set of numbers? Which one would you go by?
I would think you would go by the high number, because it must have been reading *something*, right? The low numbers could just be it wasn’t quite on target?
I know the lower numbers weren’t my heart rate, because I could find it and distinguish it at 86bpm.

Yep thats normal. You are lucky to be picking up the heartrate at all this early! Congrats on the baby!
I have never even heard of a fetal doppler b4……
yes thats a normal range any is fine. my babys last time was 158. i hear though that you shouldnt rent them cause then you get worried like what you are doing now. but i have a bebe fetal monitor i got and i can hear my babys heatbeat but im not counting bpm, im leaving that up to the dr. like you should be. i got this monitor brand new from a garafe sale for $1 and it works, i only have it for the joys of hearing my babys heartbeat and nothing else. if i was you i wouldnt time bpm.
